+location - near the bridge Realto in San Marco district. Very nice location for seeing Venice. 2 minutes from Grand Canal if you arrive on vapporetto, there is an excess to the canal near the hotel entrance (30 metres) if you arrive by water taxi. Very good place to stay in Venice in terms of value for money. + helpfull english speaking staff on reception + good european breakfast. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The shower worked well and room size was very good. The breakfast was good supplying ham, cheese, and sweet breads. Canned fruit and yogurt were also available. Overall we were quite satisfied with Hotel Bartolomeo. The location was very good. Close to Rialto bridge and 10 minutes from San Marco square.
all reviews » We loved everything about the hotel: clean, friendly, helpful, close to everything - restaurants, shopping, Rialto Bridge and watertaxi right around the corner, and 5 min. walk to San Marco Square. They offered a plentiful variety for buffet-style breakfast. We highly recommend this hotel, and will be returning ourselves. Staff: nice and very helpful Room: mine was on the first floor, exactly over a restaurant in the alleyway down there, so a bit noisy; quite spacious with big, clean bathroom Breakfast: quite a good variety of food to choose Location: a bit hard to find at first, but in a strategic one, just a few minutes from Ponte Rialto. The hotel was in an ideal central location, 2 minutes from the Rialto bridge . Staff were friendly, rooms were small but clean and the large double bed was comfortable . Breakfast was basic but good enough , the breakfast room was cosy ( compact) but absolutely fine . Excellent value for money and free air conditioning !. The staff, mainly Gabriel and Ennio were always ready to help and answer any questions. The room was nice and the hotel very well situated (close to the rialto). If I come back to Venice I will choose to stay at the Bartolomeo and I will recomand it to my friends. The hotel is located in the center of Venice. It has a great location. The staff is accessible. The room was large, clean, no noise. Breakfast was good. I recommend to anyone who wants to spend time in Venice for sightseeing. The price was good. Besides, I needed the excercise after eating all that wonderful Italian food. Walls were thin, but other guests were quiet, and I did not see or hear any children staying there. Our room was above a bar and it was a little bit noisy at night if the windows were open (closing the windows solve the problem). We couldn't receive any french channel at the television. Everything was great. Nothing - we were on the 4th floor & quite fit but if you are not so mobile, request a room on the lower floor as there is no lift. To leave so home- friendly hotel!. You can hear people walking the stairs. It is Impossible to find, but we did in the end . We were on the top floor 4 and no lift. The breakfast was extremely basic and mostly consisted of cake. If you can't eat wheat or dairy, your options are limited but the hotel let us put our own food in their fridge so we didn't starve!. We are pretty fit but as is common in Venice there is no lift - so if you have mobility issues request q room on the lower floors. Bfst could start a bit earlier than 8 am in summer. No lift..but climb to 4th floor well worth it for exersize and roof top views. Room was a bit small for twins. Finding the place was an entertaining challenge even with the map sent by the hotel (getting lost is part of the charm of Venice). Breakfast room was small and disorganised ie not easy to serve yourself as buffet table tucked in a corner. Breakfast was basic although it served the purpose. the first man we met in the reception kept chatting on the cell all the time (i mean from the afternoon when we checked in till midnight when we came back), he was quiet impolite and didnt give us any information useful. but other personnel we met other days all behaved like gentlemen. Very difficult to find. We received a map via email from the hotel prior to our arrival, but the map did not have the name of the streets. We stayed on the 3rd floor, we had heavy luggage and there was not lift. Poor breakfast, No minibar in the room (or fridge), very simple furniture in the rooms,. Meager breakfast. nothing. The price. We were next to the breakfast room which was quite noisy if you wanted to sleep in. The breakfast room was really small so if you went at a busy time you had to wait until someone else left to have a table. no elevator and had to carry the luggage up to 4th floor. a bit cramped in the breakfast room, but came down at 8am one morning and had it to ourselves. Bad map:(. Quite costly wifi. A sophisticated way to the hotel even for Venice. I could not open the window to get air or light into the room. A bit tricky to find but once there it was a very nice secluded spot. Thin wall. Although the map on the website is accurate, a person needs to understand that it feels a little like a labyrinth to find the hotel. Thankfully a nice local offered to walk us to the hotel. The path this through what we would consider more like alley ways. The lack of elevators can be a bit of a challenge and the breakfast room is very tight. Location - hidden right next to a stinky public WC, and noisy neighbors making repairs and construction all day and night. The late night person (young guy) at the front desk was not nice or helpful - he was more interested in following up Facebook than helping customers. No tea/coffee facilities in room Hard pillow Air conditioning not very effective( not particularly hot when we were there but would be issue in summer) Average breakfast. I was overwhelmed by tourists. I had no idea it would be so busy so close to off season. No fridge in the room. Poor breakfast. Technical problems, some days only cold water in the shower, no elevator. Too many steps, 50 steps from the reception to room 37. Difficult to find. Just after the public toilets, follow the signs to WC !. staff. breakfast room too small to cope with number of guests. room dark . never stay here again .There must be oodles of hotels in Venice better than this for the price. The facility and room clean is not good. The staff is not kind but you need to remind that the hotels in Venice is mostly like this. Dirty (never been cleaned under the bed, there were shoe's, dust, toiletpaper,..) Owner very unfriendly to expensive breakfast was the same old pie, (exact the same, not a simular) as the day before Bathroom smelled, no hot water.
