The location - it is in Lido which is a breeze to travel to Venice via the water bus, and you get to enjoy the peace and tranquility at Lido. The price is good an the breakfast buffet is wonderful. The hotel is only a 5 minutes walk from the water bus station and there is a departmental store + supermarket nearby. Superb location for both the Lido beach and for the boat in to Venice. The staff were really lovely and the breakfast was ample. The rooms are basic but very comfy with a nice TV, hair dryer and free toiletries. Our room also had a small balcony with table and chairs. The price was excellent for the location.
all reviews » We loved the location of the Rigel - it was on the island of Lido, off the beaten path in a more residential area. Very quiet and quaint hotel, with rooms that had some character. The air conditioning was most welcome after very warm weather in Venice - it made for very nice sleeping conditions. Fantastic original 70´s decor, it feels like being in a 70´s movie.Superfriendly and professional staff. Lovely peaceful garden where you can sit and have a coffee. Perfect location on beautiful and calm Lido, close walking distance to everything Lido has to offer and close to Venice too. Abundant buffet breakfast included in room price. Very helpful personnel at reception: they booked restaurant reservations for us whenever requested. Located in a quiet street only 5 min. walk from main boat Lido station (Sta. Margherita), very useful on a fireworks night!. Rigel is a nice hotel with friendly staff and a great location for any type of vacation. It is only a vaporetto trip away from the wonderful sites of Venice and also close to the beach. We loved it. The hotel is very nice with all the requiered facilities and staff are nice too. There are several bars, restaurants near by and most importantly, the beach is closed to the hotel as well. The staff were friendly and at breakfast the the main waiter (male waiter) was amazing as he looked after the whole floor by him self ,cleaning ,getting coffees, and keeping things stocked up!!! Small room, small bathroom, not enough storage to unpack. anyway you need a boat to get from the airport to the hotel (which is in Lido)and second one to get to the Venice. I liked everything. Ventilation duct was caked with dirt. This would be more of a problem outside of fall where you rely on heating/cooling more instead of just opening up the windows. Everything was perfect. The only thing that may not be so positive is the small space, not conviniente for a stay longer than a day, the position of the closet and TV. I don't like the fact that the Internet is not inlcuded in the price, as these days you can have the Internet everywhere. We ordered a small room but wow we didn't think it would be that small ... If I have my hands out you can touch the walls on either side of the room lol !?! ... Not that we minded really ...butt It the pillows were like sleeping on rocks and getting a bit dated ... But other than that it was ok. Bed' s a bit smell. Parking that offer is designed to fit 6-7 cars one behind the other and you need to leave the key of car at reception, and if someone needs to go out, all vehicles receptionists first thrown into the street then remove vehicle that need and then all car return back.Rooms are not maintained long time, now color on the wall would give a better look. Staff was rude and not helpful. Rooms are very tiny and outdated. The Hotel needs to be refurbished urgently. The Price is very high for the standard of the Hotel, but Venice is very expensive destination. Room cupboard a bit dirty. Bed too soft.
