Rockfield House B&B - Photos
What people say
Peter was a great host, very attentive and caring, who made you feel at
home from the moment you walked in. The bed had heating mattress which
was nice and toasty and there was a portable heater in the room to warm
it up. It was lovely to come back after exploring all day to a nice hot
cup of tea or coffee in the room. Breakfast was delicious and filling,
and Peter was flexible on the time, which was very nice. Location was
along the main road and about give minutes from Killarney town centre. all reviews »
This B&B is very good one with a delicious breakfast, small but clean rooms with good beds and very very friendly owners. The house is five minutes away by car from the city centre. As we wanted to drink a beer in a pub the owner drove us into the city centre. Beyond that we always were invited for a coffee or tea as we sit in the living room watching TV or surfing in the web. That's much more than standard. We'll come back again! Thank you!.
Fantastic experience staying at the Rockfield house. The host Mr Keelahan is friendly and very hospitable. Made us feel like home. Killarney is a charming town with wonderful pubs and shops. Definitely would recommend a walk through the streets at night brimming with Irish culture and music. Great stay in Killarney and wonderful cosy comfort at Rockfield House. Highly recommend the breakfast!.
Peter was an excellent host. I was travelling with my parents and he
made us feel very welcome. Came and found us when I got lost. Prepared a
beautiful platter for our supper. Excellent choices for breakfast. Would
have liked to stay longer so we could sample more. Peter was
entertaining. The Perfect Host, a real star. I am definitely going back
with husband and friends.
The proprietor, Peter, was friendly, accommodating, and very knowledgeable about Killarney and the surrounding countryside. He prepared the most delicious full Irish breakfast one morning and the wonderful smoked salmon breakfast as well. The second morning my daughter, son, granddaughter and I ate the smoked salmom breakfast. This was the best! Thank you, Peter.
Everything was so wonderful- especially the host who really gives you
the gift of a real Irish Holliday. You feel like you are at a friends
house as he treats you like family and not as an outsider popping in...
One of our favorite nights was drinking coffee with him as he gave us
good tips for pack packing around the countryside while sitting by a
peat fire!!!.
Excellent host, very welcoming, thoughtful and generous. The home fire
was always burning and the delicious coffee waiting after a days travel
or sightseeing. Having your own transport is an advantage Good location
to do Kerry Ring or Dingle Ring. Breakfast is a treat and plentiful.
Would definitely stay again and can recommend to others.
You would not get hospitality like it anywhere else, Peter is a true gent and makes you feel part of his home. Breakfast was delicious. It's about a four minute drive into Killarney town, so ideal location for anyone who wants a good nights sleep without all the noise of a town. We will be going back to Rockfield house for sure :).
Best breakfasts of my entire holiday. Peter and his staff welcome you into his home. Spacious dining room and parlor with large screen TV. Post dinner conversations in the parlor with guests from all over the world. I really enjoyed my stay here, recommend to anyone. I will return and explore Killarney and Kerry once more!.
Great spot, just north of Killarney. Rooms are great, very cozy. Peter
is a phenomenal host - very funny & great to talk to - and a true
magician in the kitchen. Maybe the best breakfast we had in Ireland.
Plus, we were heading north pretty early in the am & Peter fixed us
an early meal to get us on the road.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff. We felt genuinely welcomed and the B&B had all the facilities you would need.
The breakfast was fantastic and the rooms were very roomy and comfortable. I would definitely recommend to anyone passing through.
We were extremely impressed with the hospitality we received and the friendly welcome. The Irish are such quaint people with their gorgeous accents and their warmth. If you're looking for an 'Irish' experience you'll definitely find it here!.
Peter is a fabulous host! He answered our many questions, gave great recommendations, and is a great cook. He made sure we were always comfortable, even moving my elderly mother to a more comfortable room.
Enjoyed my stay so much. Hospitality was great, even a cup of coffee and biscute on arrival. Breakfast was delicious and plenty of it. Such wonderful friendly people. Highly recommend a stay here!.

Absolutely fantastic. Wonderful host and residence that met all our needs and truly set the bar high for the rest of our stay in Ireland! Thank you so much for the stay!.
Stayed in Rochfield House for one night. The place is very clean and welcoming and homley. The breakfast was hugh. Would stay here again, and would recommend to friends.
A good B&B at a reasonable price, and convenient placed for touring
.
It was run by Paul Kelehan who was always helpful and making sure we were comfortable there.
We really liked the owner Peter he was very welcoming and very obliging,
he left us into town and came back to collect us, we really were
impressed with such service.
Fabulous Breakfasts - great choice of smoked salmon, mackerel or full
Irish etc. - and well presented. Very friendly and helpful
proprietor/staff. Good sized rooms.
The host was wonderful, helpful, a great cook and a very friendly
person. The accomadations were perfect. We would certainly return to
visit with Peter again.
All Peter the owner was great to converse with very helpful.great breakfast and clean restful. Stay.seat around fireflace with coffey and friends was great.
Peter was an excellent host. Very friendly and would go out of his way to help you out. Really enjoyed my stay and would go back if I was ever in Ireland.
We were really made to feel welcome. Breakfast you could have anything you wanted even Salmon, Peter certainly went out of his way. Highly recommended.
Found the room to be very adequate since there were three of us. All very friendly and most helpful. We had a hard time finding the B & B
however.
The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. The breakfast was excellent. Lots of parking space. The furniture in the was quite comfortable.
The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful! Best tea in Ireland!!
The rooms were lovely and we had a car so was only a 5 minute drive
from town.
Lovely stay here. The owner was very welcoming and helpful.Rooms were very comfortable and the breakfast was lovely, great choice available.

* Friendliness of host
* Flexible regarding breakfast times for very early start
* Fantastic breakfast
* Very comfortable and cosy house.
Great hosts, excellent breakfast (highly recommended). Location is good, close to town centre even to Tralee. Clean and comfortable.
Stayed for 3 nights. Nice room, small and warm. Great owners - very friendly and helpful. Private parking. The breakfast is good.
Peter who runs the b&b was a gent very down to earth nice guy . A bit out of town but Peter drove me in ( when not to busy ).
I liked the friendliness of the owner and he was very helpful. Breakfast was massive, set us up the the day. Very busy b and b.
Peter is a fantastic host. His salmon breakfast is sumptuous and he's a most congenial host. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The room was quite spatious, the food excellent, the landlord very friendly. A perfect place in an elegant house.
We changed our booking at the last moment, (day of arrival) and the
owner only charged for the day we stayed.
Warm, friendly atmosphere. Value for money. All needs were catered for and staff were eager to accomodate.
Excellent breakfast, very friendly people, feels like home the minut you step trough the door.
Friendly, clean, cosy and a great effort made to cater for my vegan diet. Highly recommend!.
Lovely smoked salmon plus a mackerel breakfast during our 2N stay. Helpful, friendly host.
breakfast superb , really freindly helpful owner , high standard of room and facilities.
the rooms were clean and roomy the breakfast was excellent and the owner so friendly.
Fair value, nothing to especially highlight above what would be reasonably expected.
The breakfast was wonderful (including salmon) and the owner was a very nice person.
I completely forgot to check the electrical outlet shapes so I arrived
without adapters to be able to plug in my phone/laptop, however,
Peter was able to loan me a couple. It was off-season so many tours were
not running and many stores and restaurants closed early despite it
being the weekend.
My parents would have liked their room serviced in the morning, but not
a problem.
there wasn't 1 thing we didn't like.
The TV was not up to the same standard as we found in other B&Bs.
There are no house numbers in Ireland so we had a difficult time trying
to find the house. When we finally gave up looking, the owner came and
guided us to the place.
Nothing.
Nothing.
A little-bit old shower and difficult to operate.
It was difficult to find the place according to the arrival instructions that appears on the website.
Not staying a bit longer.
(Don't bother with Danny Mann's Restaurant in the town they are poor).
No reflection on the Rockfield just needed to say.
Nothing.
we couldn't find any problem.
Just that if you want to go to Killarney you must do it by car - around 10 min. driving for the center of the town.
All fine.
we stayed 2 nights and expected a stay over clean up eg make beds, remove towels but this didnt happen. this is done in every type of accomodation.
Wi-fi didn't work upstairs in the room, only downstairs in the lounge.
Everything was super!.
Nothing.
Wifi didn't work in the back bedroom. Worked well in the guest lounge downstairs.
bit of a distance to town.
No complaints.
