The Waters Country House is unique and very special. There is a wonderful atmosphere pervading the whole house, from the gentle sound of water from the spring over which the house is built and the very quiet esoteric music in the entrance area, to the delightful and cosy sitting rooms and the inviting breakfast room. all reviews » Set in a beautiful environment, this is a really unique place. Loved the spaciousness of the lounge and library and how at the end of the day we would arrive back to candles lit and the fire going and could sit with a glass of wine available from the bar. Sometimes there other guest to chat with (which we enjoyed) but if you wanted total quiet to reflect on your day you could sit in the library. The bedrooms were lovely and the bed comfortable. Although we mostly ate out as no evening meals ar. Like an old German castle, the decor, the wooden beams on the ceiling, it was all very exquisite, very warm and cozy... The owner Wolfgang and his wife Maria (and Wolfgang's wonderful sister!) gave hospitality a new name, they were really caring and were attentive to every detail... The location was great - with just enough seclusion to give you privacy... Especially loved that we could stay in the upstairs room with our son who's in a wheelchair and had no issues or problems... Had the windows. I would definitely recommend a stay at the Waters Country House. The location is awesome on a mountainside in the Burren! It was well signposted from Ballyvaughan - on arrival the owners Wolfgang and Maria were friendly and welcoming. The bedrooms are charming and well equipped. The drawing room / bar area is unusually decorated in the style of a medieval castle. The breakfast was delicious and plenty of options. We could not believe how fresh the bread was in a rural location in Co. Clare. We received a warm welcome from Wolfgang when we arrived. The Waters is set in lovely countryside in an interesting building - a very peaceful location. The lodge is decorated in plush period furniture throughout, with comfortable and beautifully furnished bedrooms, and we especially appreciated the enormous bed after a log drive from the north! Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Well sign-posted from Balyvaughan. Wish we could have stayed here longer. Definitely recommend to singles or cou. We had such a lovely time, this place is amazing!! you get such a good value for money. The atmosphere is so relaxing and you feel like in another word. Room was very spacious and cosy. You have two lounges to relax in front of an open fire (very unusual for this price), the whole place is beautifully decorated. They have a holywell inside the house, was a great surprise. We had nice weather so we went up the hills of the property, views were stunning. I liked it so much that I already book for. The building (and the well) itself is lovely. The Waters is situated in a beautiful rural area. Five minutes walk to a wonderful art institute where you can visit an ancient castle and visit exhibition to see gorgeous artwork. There's a 10 mins drive town for pub food or Italian restaurant. It's also not too far away from the amazing Cliffs of Moher. We enjoyed our stay at Waters, the library is cozy and the whole house is full of relaxed atmosphere. Owners are very friendly, too. We would love. This charming family-run B&B was one of the most pleasant surprises on our trip. The owners were extremely welcoming and hospitable, making you truly feel at home. The house has lots of charme and personality, with a very interesting decor. We enjoyed the quietness of the place and the feeling of being immersed in the countryside. All of this for a very reasona. wolfgang and maria are two of the most welcoming hosts I have ever stayed with. the hotel is unique and exceptionally interesting and the surrounding area is fabulous. if you are looking for 5 star luxury with all mod cons this is not for you but if you want somewhere that is interesting, friendly, comfortable and A little unusual this hotel is designed for you. we stayed for three nights and would have happily stayed for A week at least. Owners sense of customers comfort and requirements the atmosphere was pleasant friendly relaxed and the building and rooms were unique and spacious with interesting features. We felt like we were in a Medieval castle, and the hosts were absolutely wonderful, taking great care to ensure the comfort of the guests. The best part was gathering in the living room in the evening to relax by the fire and meet other guests from around the world. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. Everything was absolutely perfect. Travelled across Ireland for years, this must be the best B&B I've been staying in. Hosts Maria and Wolfgang are very welcoming and helpful. Guesthouse is full of old school charm: bedrooms, sittingroom and library all reflect a friendly no nonsense atmosphere. Excellent base camp to explore the region. Very suitable for both families and couples. Wish we could have stayed longer but will definitely go back soon. The only minor point against The Waters is the lack of facilities to make a drink in the room, although free tea and coffee were available in the dining room if you want a drink on awaking you have to dress and walk across. If you don't like staying in isolated locations, this guesthouse is not for you. For everyone else looking for a comfortable and uncomplicated place to stay to explore the Burren, I would definitely recommend this guesthouse. Nothing!. nothing. Nothing really, all was great.. I think it would be great though if the wi-fi could be extended to the rooms and the whole place, I really wished to use the other seating room but it did not have wi-fi. Not a thing. It was wonderful. would love more flowers or shrubs and maybe the option of dinner. A bit difficult to find, specially at night !. We had to drive to Ennis on the day in between the two nights we spent at the hotel and driving along the relatively minor roads at night was not to be recommended. During the day iris scenic!. nothing. A bit too small the room, but we knew before booking. We did not mind at all, but the house is quite a bit off the beaten path.. We liked everything. May not be everyone's cup of tea but we liked it!. Absolutlely nothing..could not fault the accomadation. Would have been nice to have an evening meal there as we had a long drive and didn't feel like more driving.
