It was a lovely hotel to stay in,it was very relaxing,warm and cosy, lovely modern resturant with some evening music which was lovely. Very nice staff, relaxing atmosphere. Shoping meals in hotel. The hotel staff in particular receptionists were very helpful. While having got bad press from a taxi that took us into town about hotel food, dined in restaurant on sat night and food was excellent. Also had lunch there on Saturday - food homemade and fresh. Music in bar on Sat night very good. Nice friendly staff and very nice bar food. The ambience of the hotel was also very good and cmfortable. The buffet breakfast was excellent, a good selection as well as the friendly staff. The room was lovely. Peace and quiet. Real duvet was good, breakfast was great. Clean, inexpensive, modern, very well decorated rooms, comfortable beds,decent breatfast and fantastic showers. the bed was very big and comfortable. This is a modern well appointed hotel with good road access and plenty of parking. bedroom lovely nothing else good to say really hope you can improve. The service in the restaurant was a bit slow and the waiter got a few things wrong with our order. Duvets are too warm but this was probably due to the warm weather.the only minor drawback was the lighting in the bedroom. Another light by the bedroom mirror is required. Couldn't control individual switches which made it inconvenient. Shower sprayed all over bathroom because design did not include door!. poor choice of evening dinner menu and food cud have been better. dessert was burned and only veg to accompany dinner was red cabbage. bit far out of athlone town which meant paying for taxi's if goin out for nite. A bit too far outside Athlone. I did not like the "Pink" Lighting along the corridors, and the Bar area was very small and had no athmosphere. room was very hot and no air con. The bedrooms an bar didn't seem to have air conditioning - so was stifling a bit. Hotel is a little bit outside town - however tax is €10 euro and one would be in in 5 mins. Distance from town centre cost €12 for a taxi each way. it's location is a little far from athlone itself!. The price of phone calls from the room!. It was too hot, each guest seemed tp pay a different rate for their roomand there was no residents bar after 11.30pm. Lighting in the rooms and bathroom is terrible, difficult for guys toshave or girls to apply make up.There was no comfort in the lounge or bar area to sit around and have a conversation. Seats uncomfortable and too close together. Room noisey at night - extractor noise and street noise.some reception staff not very friendly. Fan in bathroom buzzed all night preventing sleep. When reported got no apology. Poorly handled.ate in restaurt asked for no dressing on salad came to me with dressing in the mean time my partner has his dinner ate n i stil hadnt mind, den came back n stil wrong but just ate it. the friday nit was a 21st our room was above the function room i had to ring down twice to find out wen the music would stop as we were away for quiet weekend as was my fiance birthday. the lighting is very poor in bathroom and bedroom. Unfortunately during my stay (1 night) the fire alarm went off twice. On the second occasion (4.30am) it took reception about 15minutes to work out how to switch the alarm off! Hardly a great night's sleep. Breakfast was fine - but actually getting service with things like coffee seemed a struggle - why when they sit you down at the table to they not ask if you want coffee then??. service very bad in all the hotels i have stayed in you are the first one with no late bar or porter on duty also no a/c room service breakfaet cold.
