From the moment that we drove down through the city streets to City Center Hotel, we knew that the location was just right on. We were near the majority of restaurants, museums & galleries and shopping. Everything was in walking distance. The staff was very helpful in all aspects that a visitor to Iceland would expect. all reviews » Very central location...close to main shopping areas, tourist centers and restaurants...try The Grill Market Restaurant on the same street as the hotel. We had a room with a balcony which was a good idea as it gave us a lovely view of the square behind the hotel. The staff were very helpful and breakfast was substantial. Easily reached( to and from airport ). Very comfortable and warm. Tours to take...The Golden Circle Classic, The South Coast and book The Northern Lights Tour early in your sta. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They provided excellent food and activity suggestions. They called to get us registered on a couple tours, called to help us change the pick up location and confirm a Northern Lights tour was still occurring. The location was also excellent. Within walking distance to a number of great restaurants, bars, cafes, shopping, attractions. The rooms were a little small, but clean (and who really wants to spend much time in their room while visiting suc. This hotel in in an ideal location in the centre of the city, making everywhere within easy walking distance. There are bats and restaurants nearby and all the local sights and shops are between 5-20 minutes walk. The service was spot on, really friendly and helpful, the desk staff either booked our excursions or confirmed our pick ups whilst we waited. We did not use the bar or breakfast as there were so many choices nearby, but they certainly looked good.breakfast prices looked reasonable con. Fantastic rooms, great decor and layout. Brilliant location, right on the shopping street with cafes etc. A few 100 yards from the Parliament, the port and bay, supermarket, nightclubs etc. Highly recommend Cafe Paris, 200 yards from the hotel. Staff were extremely helpful and the service was good. Great food at breakfast, hot and cold, fried and healthy (including lots of Skyr flavours!). On top of all that, great value for money. Oh, and free wifi! Absolutely loved it. Loved the location of this hotel, albeit a bit farther from the busy shopping area (just about a 5-min walk), but it's near all the best restaurants as well as tour companies. Very convenient for those who are looking to do tours locally, which I highly recommend. It's a boutique- ish small hotel but has everything you need, very well maintained and helpful staff. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Reykjavik!. Absolutely fantastic location - you walk out of your door into the centre of Reyjkavik, with great restaurants, the harbour, volcano museum and access to bus travel right on the doorstep. Fantastic breakfast and free coffee. Lovely bar/lounge area. Much more luxurious than we would have expected for the money. Lovely staff. We will definitely stay again next time in Reyjkavik. I liked where it was located, I liked the beds, and the friendly staff and even the planes that flew over during the day. We were in room 603 and had an awesome view.. At least of town.. I think the other side might show the water... But not sure. They had a nice breakfast and it was nice to have the time to sit and relax drinking your coffee. What's not to like? The City Center Hotel is ideally located, has comfortable beds with real pillows, and even sports an excellent pub serving a wide variety of micro-brewery beers. It is also a short walk from several excellent restaurants. I plan to return To Reykjavik and hope to stay here again. - Awesome location, can't get any better actually. Across the road from Laundromat cafe, 2 min walk to the famous hot dog stand. The hotel is located perfectly in the city center if Reykjavik - next to many bars, restaurants, and supermarkets. The hotel is very clean, huge shower and nice bathroom (not small). Not a great lot of space for sitting unless your own room or small bar. Hotel had no restaurant which was a bit of an inconvenience but there are numerous restaurants close by. Nothing really. We were very happy with our stay here. Satellite TV was tricky to work out but we were helped with that. A leaflet with it written down in sequence would have helped. We were out and about so much it didn't matter. Gets a bit noisy Friday and Saturday night if your room faces the main street. The only thing I didn't like, and this is the reason for not a perfect score, hair in the shower drain.. I am sure, it was just a mistake, but it was a lot. Thank goodness for kleenex :-). The room was quite small, depends on how much package you take with you, but it can be less space. The partying on the street over the weekend is very loud and raucous. It was fine for me but I'm not sure I would bring my kids to the hotel over the weekend. Price was quite high, but considering location, it was worth it. Not really sure they can call their exercise room 'a gym'. May not have packed gym clothes if I'd realised it was so small. But a very minor point. No breakfast include, no tissue in the room, the light is too dark, one of the bed didn't have a socket next to it. the rooms are very small, and it is pricey, although similar to other locations in Reykjavik. TV hard to use, even for staff! But we didn't ha e to.e for TV, really, so not a big deal. maybe at weekend a bit noisy, just be prepared with earplugs. There was nothing I didn't like. I have no negative comments on this hotel. wifi is slow room is a bit small no heater in bedroom no light switch near the bed. The room was tiny. Bit noisy on sat night due to location. The beds were a little uncomfortable and I didn't feel the breakfast was worth it for the price. The breakfast was very small and there weren't really options, it was eggs, bacon and toast and that's it. I would recommend that the cloth shower curtain be washed/bleached. It had a mildew smell that made the whole bathroom smell bad. (I didn't mind the sulfer smell of the hot water, as I'd grown accustomed to this in both Iceland and Alaska.). Nothing. Quite noisy on the weekend. price for what you get. The big armoire furniture makes the room smaller!. Kind of expensive. none. small room, plain breakfast. We stayed in room 406 which is very small. You are not really able to walk around the bed even. When you enter the room you have to make way for the next person to step in. Bit disappointing. For this room no 8,8 on the scoreboard surely!. No warning that water would turn silver jewellery brown. Staff not that friendly.
