The staff went out of their way to make sure everything was o.k. We had a lot of questions (like currencyandlanguage) and they always took time to explain.I would definitley go back to the CenterHotel Arnarhvoll. great location. good breakfast. lovely geothermal spa in basement. modern rooms.Friendly and very helpful staff, Clean room. Very nice building in central position (just a few minutes walking from the main shopping street and many nice restaurants and bars). Tastily arranged rooms, very good breakfast buffet and amazing views from the terrace (in sunny days...).

Location and helpfulness of front desk staff. The maitre d' pointed out to us that the Northern Lights were visible outside the panorama restaurant. Comfort and modern style room, tasty and full breakfast, the perfect views on the hotel's top floor. Very nice modern rooms, and friendly and helpful reception staff. Our flight arrived in Iceland in the early morning at 6 am and we needed sleep. We arrived at the hotel earlier than check in time and were allowed to have our room earlier at no charge. The staff were very accommodating to our situation and it was very much appreciated. The buffet breakfast was well done and the view was spectacular; the room clean but as usual small.Free internet access in the rooms, new comfortable beds, location near center. The hotel was close to the town centre, so I could walk to the attractions: cathedral, museums, shops etc.,. the hotel is well situated near the city center but still in a quiet area. Location was very central. nice forniture and comfortable bed. We had a room on the 2nd floor and one could hear some noises coming from the nearby street and the main entrance of the hotel. However, the room had great views that perfectly compensated for the noise. Make sure you don't get a room in the back site of the building where you just look at the inner courtyard.Room was too hot and no control of it. It looked and felt like converted offices (which it is). No WIFI in the rooms, and the breakfast was a little below standard, mainly because of the sulky and uninterested behavior of the member of staff that was overseeing it. The shower is small and the glass partition does not extend far enough which, typical European water splashes everywhere, the TV is terrible and only offers CNN Int. and BBC.Air conditioning would be nice. It's not hot in Iceland, but the air did not change in the room and the it become quite heavy. (Keeping the window open was not an option because of the noice from the street and cigarette smoke from the "smoking area" below the window). the view from the back of the hotel of a derelict car park is not great. The window did not close properly, bringing important noise from the street. Cleanliness in the rooms could be improved - when we arrived the sheetshad not been changed in our bed + the toilet had not even been flushed!! Also the young man at the reception was quite rude when we checked in- he wanted me to pay the bill right away and when I said I would pay itwhen we leave the hotel he simply threw the room keys on the desk andwanted to check my credit card details.Network cable available only on request. Problems getting internet connection to work. Not much storage/drying space for clothes (you'll always get wet in iceland, afterall). Rooms very small and hot - windows would not open and radiators on all the time - which are needed for 10 months of the year - but this was a good summer. Breakfast was poor - no hot food. too noisy. there's no proper isolation from the external traffic: the hotel lies near a main road and a better windows might be expected.
