When we arrived from the airport at the bus depot despite it being 1amthe very personable owner of Apartment k picked us up. The apartment wasright downtown but with a view of ocean and mountains, well furnishedand outfitted with large flat screen tv, wlan and MacMini with largecollection of movies. Kitchen very usable including excellent espressomachine and ample supply of coffee. Modern, sleek and stylish accommodation, with all the conveniences you could possibly need. Excellent communication and support from the owners, who were very helpful and welcoming. They now have a number of apartments in downtown Reykjavik, so be sure to ask them for the exact address of the one you'll be staying in, if you need to arrange taxis etc.

The apartment K staff are very friendly and helpful and gave us an upgrade to a much larger apartment free of charge and without us asking for it. If you are visiting Reykjavik, there is no other place to stay in my opinion. This is a better option by far than staying in a hotel. It was fantastic having a full apartment right in the centre of the city. So easy to walk everywhere and still really quiet. It was great to be able to come back at night after adventuring all day and be able to make our own meal, relax and watch the movies provided. I am recommending it to everyone who is going to Iceland.Both owners/managers of Apartment k, Kathy and Joe, were very warm,efficient and helpful. The apartment was meticulously clean and well-appointed, with very nice and thoughtful touches. The location could notbe beat, lliterally less than ten steps from the hub of the city action. Slight confusion on our part of how to find the apartment on arrival butsolved by a phone call. Absolutely no complaints. Would stay at this place again without anyhesitation whatsoever!. Not a huge deal, but the address on the website is their office, not the actual apartment address. They have 3 locations throughout the city, so you have to contact them to figure out exactly where you'll be staying. But all of them are very centrally located so any should be great. nothing negative to say. Room darkening shades would be nice. there was a construction going next door, but they were done most days at 6-7; there was no noise but it was not a pretty site. it would be good to organize central reception, there isn't one at the moment and you have to talk to cleaning personnel to find somebody to check in. We had troubles using the keypad for the computer, therefore the internet access was useless to us. I`m sure however, that had we reported it to the staff, they would have done their best to fix it.A couple of easily-fixed minor issues with otherwise good IT facilities. 1-2 English news TV channels would have been good. A drainage problem in the shower. Clothes washing facilities would make the apartments perfect. Disappointed that hot tub not available for use, but host did everything they could to get it back in action - it didn't ruin our experience in any way.there was no brake fast for a short stay visitors. We stayed at a room classified as B2 on booking.com. It was very nice if you forget the fact that it did not match the description at all: no jacuzzi, no MacMini, no wooden walls, basically a different apartment with half the facilities listed. And yet, they are so nice, that you'll be forgiving.Could do with black-out blinds. Broken armchair owner said would fix, lack of blackout blinds (not good after late night on the town!). miss-advertised room by saying that the room had a hot-tub and sauna. The fact that it was not disclosed that we would actually not stop at the location that comes up on the website as hotel address. I wasn't happy about that fact that it stated that it had a Mac Mini and wireless internet access. They should have stated that the Mac Mini was unable to use the internet and that you would have to take your own laptop to access the internet. As others have said, some furniture was not conducive to comfortable use. Also, the large number of windows made it a hassle to open and close as the the inside of the room could easily be seen from all of them. Many taxis drivers don't seem to know this hotel and with one way streets, it is not easy to navigate them there. Perhaps they should offer a printed map with directions for cabs.

Please note that check-in for all locations is at Thingholtstræti 2-4. Guests staying at the other locations will be transferred to their apartments free of charge. This service is available 24/7. After booking, guests will receive check-in information from Apartment K via email. Apartment K requires a security and incidental deposit at check-in of ISK 30 000. Guests are required to show a photo identification and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply. Please inform Apartment K in advance of your expected arrival time. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly with the contact details provided in your confirmation. A damage deposit of EUR 230 is required on arrival. This will be collected by credit card. You should be reimbursed on check-out. Your deposit will be refunded in full via credit card, subject to an inspection of the property.
