I can't recall staying in a better city centre hotel than this and all at a very reasonable price. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble for them. The conversion from a venerable old residence to a modern comfortable hotel has been carried out with style and panache. There is quality everywhere you look and the premises are kept spotless throughout. We will certainly try and book the Zichy when we visit Budapest again and would recommend it wholeheartedly to.
all reviews » We loved everything about the hotel.We upgraded our room and stayed in a wonderful junior suite on the fifth floor.It was quiet,clean,big and the bathroom had a walk in shower and a jacuzzi.Plenty of closet space and a great bed.The staff was polite and very helpful.They spoke excellent English.They booked restaurants,massages and ordered taxis.I would defenitely recommend this hotel to all my friends.We also liked its situation,district 8.we walked everywhere.Good job!!!. The level of service by staff is really outstanding. They will do whatever they can to make your staff enjoyable and are always ready to assist. (For example, when we said that we would be leaving at 4.30am to catch an early flight they arranged some breakfasts that we could take with us.) The room cost includes breakfast which is very nice. The rooms are very modern and quite spacious and comfortable. There are a number of restaurants quite close to the hotel. The hotel was in a good position with the metro and trams a few minutes walk away. The staff were incredibly helpful and were always available. The hotel was beautifully presented and well maintained. Breakfast was fantastic with an excellent array to choose from and beautiful coffee! Although we didn't use the wellness room we did look around and the facilities were great. Our bedrooms were big enough with comfortable beds, quiet nights and well cleaned. This hotel was fantastic! I stayed in the Junior Suite for two nights. The corner room was spacious with a view of the plaza and church across the street. The room was appointed nicely and had many windows to let in the natural sunlight. The staff was very helpful. I brought my bicycle with me and they allowed me to store it in the service entrance. We arrived very early but the receptionist found us a room so that we could check in early. Our room was beautiful, elegant, roomy and well equipped. My only niggle was that the wi-fi didn't work in our room (523) but as fast wi-fi was available in the lobby area this meant that this hitch was no big deal. The only minor criticism is that the breakfast room is a little small and on some mornings people had to wait for tables. What's not to like?. Nothing. There was nothing we didn't like but if I had to be picky the lighting in the bedroom could have been a little better. My only complaint would be that the bed in my room was a little too firm for my preference. The only thing that let the Hotel down was that the bed was hard, sort of got use to it after the first couple of nights but even worse were the pillows, literally like concrete, difficult to get a good nights sleep. While returning to my room, I found that the door was not completely shut and had been accidentally left open by Housekeeping. This was confirmed by the hotel manager, after he checked which key was last used to open the door. Nothing was stolen from the room, but hopefully this is not a regular occurrence. The staff handled the situation professionally and the manager said that appropriate actions were taken to ensure this does not happen again. Not one thing. Nothing. Honestly, the only negative point was that we had to leave. The bar inside is quite expensive. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing!!. Not an issue for us but no bath in the bathroom, just a walk in shower - so more for info than a 'not like'. The rooms needed more lighting. Wash cloths in the bathroom would be helpful. N/a. N/A. When large tour group is at hotel, the breakfast room is sometimes too crowded. My room wasn't amazingly soundproofed....but then to be honest I was being really lazy and sleeping in when the chambermaids were simply trying to do their jobs !!. There is only one thing to regret: the hotel is located in the old town, in a former palace, so it does not have neither a parking area, nor an underground garage. I really can't think of anything that I did not like. The pillows - a pillow menu would have been better A kettle in the room would also be a good addition. The only thing that I could say that maybe I didn't like was that we are not in the center of it all. But please, for the price, I will be returning here on all my trips to Budapest!. nothing. Everything was perfect Rooms are maybe a bit transparent to neighboring rooms noices (tv, conversions). No coffee-making facilities in the room. My suggestion that more TV channels should be available was well received by the management and future planned. A/c control was difficult to operate but once done a/c was good. Everything was perfect. Nothing. The bathroom is a little odd. There is no real door, just a glass panel, so it's not very private. A little overly "designed!" The location is fine, but not right in the middle of the tourist attractions and restaurants. That said, there is a Metro stop just a couple of blocks away, so it's not a big deal to get anywhere. Location is a little far from the nearest metro station. (About 10mins walking). About twenty minute walk to centre of town. Situated in grubbier area.
