Hotel ideally situated in central Budapest in a quiet area but within 5 minutes you were in the buzz of the city. Hotel also located very close to two metro stations making getting around Budapest easy. Hotel had bags of character with it's 20's and 30's style. Breakfast fantastic and set you up for the day. Staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful, nothing was too much trouble.

The rooms were great with style and comfort and the basement restaurant was superb too. Central, without being in the busiest street---and therefore noisiest area. Found some nice places to eat within the locale. Interesting decor, helpfull staff when booking excursions/taxi etc.Central location, excellent staff, very comfortable clean room, good breakfast, we paid 150 euros for 3 nights bed + breakfast so excellent value for money. They also were unaware of our request for one elderly couple seeking a twin room. May not have been the hotel at fault but the booking agency ?. No food available on arrival. I found that our room was little bit dark perhaps a brighter bedside lamp would be sufficient, and in the room we stayed in there was no mirror - minor details. A little disappointed that the beautiful restaurant was not open in the evening, but saying that we had some fab meals in the vicinity nearby. Shower blocked and wasn't fixed despite mentioning it. Could put tea/coffee facilities in room. The bar. I was the only one there and it was a very large bar. It would be better if there was entertainment. The bed wasn't very comfortable - think a new mattress was long overdue!. the door closer to the reception needs repair. decoration of the room was excellent. The staff on reception (2 different ladies - one night, one day) were not very friendly or welcoming. They were helpful enough when asked but one felt that it was a nuisance to arrive and ask them things!. The room with shower was very small. very noisy streets made it hard to sleep. (hotel did move us to quieter room, but only on last night.) the hotel restaurant, bar, and jazz club were all closed for the season when we arrived, though website did not make that clear in advance.No tea and coffee making facilities in room. No parking place, modest breakfast choice, neighbourhood under construction. That a single person ends up paying the same amount as a couple. Not enough light in the room. dont take room no 8. Is very dark (window is like piece of... something). I general hotel is pretty ok. Very slow check out process. The traffic and people noise from outside of the hotel and our room was unexpectedly smaller than what we had expected, hardly could go around the room and also the view/building of the hotel from outside was not so good, it was not a view of a 4 star hotel, hardly a 2 star hotel. But from inside quite good and well arranged and decorated. The hotel advertises cabaret most nights of the week and having a restaurant and bar. There was no cabaret during our stay and we were not allowed to use the bar which was disappointing. Breakfast selection very limited. Staff response. No shampoo and soap; No windows. Breakfast area was extremely dark, and the two men that sit in the entrance are very off putting.Very quirky place, with spooky 1920s wax like statues. Breakfast was disappointing. Staff were helpful but abrupt in their manner. The rooms were too small, there was not a place for the luggage, when asked for a table the staff were not able to find a solution, bed lnen were not changed every day, the air condition was not working properly and you would have to leave the window open to get rid of the unwanted smell and dampness.When we arrived we were told we were double booked and so 4 of us had to share 1 room. that consisted of 1 double bed and a pull out couch. We were not happy with this but agreed to let it go but then booked a tour which the receptionist made a mess of too. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone!!!.
