This has been one of the most memorable stay my wife and I had. 1) the owners are just amazing. They made us feel at home from the second we checked-in. Marios and Yannis are so friendly and welcoming! Marios recommended us a delicious restaurant (Sunset Taverna in Ammoudi Bay) for dinner when we arrived. He even came back and picked us up back to the hotel in his own car because otherwise we would have waited 30 min for a taxi to come at 11pm. In the morning, they would bring you breakfast an.
all reviews » Marizan has been the most impressive stay in the decade for me and my wife. We stayed with the Honeymoon cave type for 2 nights which is spacious and very clean. There are all necessary kitchen equipment. The hotel locates on the best sunset viewpoint , no need to reserve the seat like the public viewpoint that require to reach there 2-3 hours before sunset. Georgia and Giannis (Owners) took care us very great, we felt warm like staying at home. It takes only 10 minutes to the center of Oia. B. Can't say enough about (1) the location - Marizan is in Oia, which is the preferred destination in Santorini (for good reason). the location provides bar none, the best sunset viewing in Oia and probably all of Santorini (2) the staff - this is a family owned hotel and you can tell; the owners are always around and available and make you feel exceptionally welcomed and valued. Georgia (owner's daughter and general manager) was incredibly helpful with her perfect english and willingness to sched. We stayed in the three bedroom cave which had an incredible balcony. With our extended family (three generations) we had wonderful meals on the balcony/patio. The rooms were charming and romantic. It was perfect in every way. My mom at 83 was unable to easily navigate the stairs but was "glided" up the stairs gently by two wonderful staff members. They were extremely and genuinely helpful and responsive, taking care of their guests. First, the location is really really nice at OIA. You will have very nice view of the whole island and the sunset when you relex yourself at the balcony. The room is very spacious and cleaning, also it decoration is creative and give us an unique experience. Though the hotel is sitting beside the cliff. This hotel picked us up (few euros) and lift all of the heavy baggages. The manager is really nice and gave us a lot informations and helps. Before we were leaving, the manage made a phonecall . Fridge were always groceries and drinks and beyond what is required. Location is optimal in view of the famous Santorini sunsets. Highly recommended. Location is within walking distance from city centre. The best selling point of it is its private place for view of sunset - the best location in Oia. In such a luxurious / prime property which is for us a must especially when you want to save your energy going up and down the stairs to expolre the beauty of the island starting at later hours. I only got 1 night to spend at oia :(. The wifi was intermittent. Carpark is not closed to the villa. Issues we had were minor at best and really reflect that we are fussy and that the place isn't cheap. Would like to see some variation regarding breakfast (we were there 9 days.). The bed was a bit former than we would like. with trips to the beach and water sports would be nice to have a 'clothes horse' .. something to hang wet clothes on... just a nice to have from a mum's perspective. It's not ideal for the elderly, disabled or families with babies/prams due to the many steps one has to climb in order to go out and get back the the 'caves'. No problem for us, but just a word of advice. The owner Georgia booked our wine tour under a different name so we were not able to use our credit card we gave to her to book with we had to use another and incur more fees. That was a disappointment but not a big deal. I thought our balcony would be more private as well we could not enjoy time alone without other guests walking through our space.
