Konstantina, the desk manager and jill-of-all-trades was so incredibly helpful, friendly and made it feel like she was there to cater to our every whim. She guided us to restaurants, orchestrated a last-second scooter rental, and gave us specific directions to little hidden gems on Santorini. The hotel is a small boutique with rooms and patios overlooking one of the main "streets" for shopping and dining in Fira, not to mention one of the top views into the caldera. all reviews » The Theoxenia was perfect, a great location and very helpful staff. Each morning a delicious breakfast was brought to our balcony. The staff was extremely accommodating, we had an early flight the last day and they were nice enough to make up a special breakfast tray the night before. They were also helpful in arranging tours and giving ideas of restaurants and things to do while in Santorini. The location of the hotel is great. It is definitely at the heart of the city. Shops,Restaurants,Bus station.. everything is within walking distance.The responsible lady of the hotel(Konstantina) is very friendly and always with a smile on her face:)..She provided all the needed information about the island during our stay in Santorini. Loved the view, the friendliness of staff, efficiency that this hotel was run with, along with thoughtfulness and inside knowledge of the island from the manager. Breakfast was superb. Very central. If you don't plan to be out late night with the club crowd, don't stay in a room next to one of the streets - lots of foot traffic and clubs nearby made for less than ideal sleeping conditions, otherwise the room was very spacious and comfortable. Don't visit in August so you can avoid the tourist crush. The bed was a little uncomfortable and the towels were not top of the line as I had expected. No negatives on this one. Leaving. Room was fairly basic for the price. The bathroom done cheaply - would benefit from a make-over. Since the hotel is downtown Fira the noise level during the night was high and didn't allow for open windows (all good once windows are closed). The Wi-Fi was pretty slow and patchy. nothing. It was difficult for us to carry our luggage two floors up the stairs and there was no one to help us but the reception lady. Steep steps up to entrance. I booked this hotel a week before arrival. Upon arrival I was told that my room with the view was not available. And then told this happens. I booked this hotel specifically for the room and view, so when I told her that she said sorry and you can't leave because your rooms are non- refundable. I did get $30 credit but really was upset. I felt at minimum they should have emailed me prior to arrival.
