Staff friendly and helpful with a good knowledge of the English language , some with a knowledge of colloquial english. Food excellent and with generous portions service was excellent as well . I would and will recommend the Ibis Hotel at Hamburg to my collegues. I always liked the location and the rooms. And the food is good. Last good meals before leaving Germany. Hassle free stays in a quietly run hotel. Very close to the airport. The price is very good too. The staff is always friendly and efficient.

Too modern, and it does not fit to the meals, I am worried that the food will change too. could have had a "lighter" menu for dinner, or an all day snack service, no safe in room for valuables. There is construction going on:(. was a bit noisy and the walls thin. I have to pay for internet at my room. No ironing board. No coffee maker. But understandable for the price. No coffee and tea making facilities. I wish they had teapot or coffee making facilities. I did not like that I booked a double bed and instead of being an actual double bed, it was two single beds put together. I found that very uncomfortable for a couple, particularly since we were offered a double bed, and I think universally a double bed can be understood as a big bed. I would recommend the hotel for single travelers or not couples, but for couples it is not suitable. I would also prefer a hotel with internet in the rooms. Housekeeping enters the room without waiting for any reply. they gave me a disabled room despite asking for a bath on the form. As a hotel it really is all VERY basic.
