I booked the Tonic because I liked that it appeared to be in a genuine Parisian style and wasn't disappointed, the rooms had a nice appearance and has retained some of the buildings original features. It even had its own courtyard off my ground floor room. The receptionist who checked me in spoke excellent English and was very approachable and friendly, the maid checked my room, towels and re-made the bed every day, which was a nice touch, in the past I have had to ask for this when needed, bu.

The location was great I can walk to Lourve or Norte Dam .the hotel located really near the metro in shopping district ,so it make me feel safety when we came back late in the night. We found Hotel Saint Honore also a 3 star hotel, just around the corner far superior to the Tonic for a similar price and it also included a nice breakfast. It was newly decorated, lovely rooms great staff and very pleasant stay for a further 3 days - much better value. This hotels location is the only justification for charging 140 euros a night. The hotel's furnishings are outdated and the bathtubs appeared to be holdovers from the 17th century. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to any of my friends. The hotel is closer to the metro station and to the most center streets and famous place of the Paris. Only the location - close to the Les Halles metro station and several restaurants. easy access to Musee du Louvre and Notre Dame de Paris. Reception staff helpful. Location. I like only the location. location. nothing. I travelled with my elderly (87 yrs)mother and requested twin/single beds in same room. Room on 5th floor and lift only went as far as 4th floor so we needed to walk last flight of stairs. No view from bedroom window which overlooked only heating/air condition vent system. Paris was so scary if you went to wrong district ,but this hotel was in the right one. The breakfast was a bit pricey but they do offer an "express" menu for a lower price. All the rest: the building is very old, incredibly tiny rooms, air conditioning and heating didn't work, restroom door didn't open, the elevator is no big than 1 sq meter, the window didn't open due to the lowered roof, the place to leave the luggage had no safety (was at the public stairs). Cost benefit is not worth!!! Run away from it, there are much better hotels in Paris for this price!. trouble to connect Wi-Fi, narrow corridor and elevator, there was no elevator in 5th floor. Barely one star, no tea and coffee facilities, expected much more for the price, dreary room, roadworks outside every morning. Room 104 small view terrible shower a shocker lights no good. The price is waaay to big for what is offered. the personal is not friendly.the building and the rooms needs restailing!!! the elevator is very very too small!!!.
