the suite was great, a good size and the huge bath tub and wet room were lovely. the hotel gardens are very classy and the location next to the entrance to the walled city was perfect to stroll to. The car park is secure which was important to us. Awesome location right outside Narbonne Gate - you could enjoy the sometimes very busy old city and then just slip out the gate to your oasis of relaxation. Comfortable well appointed rooms and a nice pool. Friendly dogs(2) to great the guests.
all reviews » i loved the hotel's close proximity to the cite. The facilities were excellent, from the staff, the car park, the room itself, the terrace bar and outdoor swimming pool. breakfast was enormous and i felt quilty that i coundn't eat it all. Fantastic location steps away from La Cite (restored medieval walled village) filled with unique restaurants and shops; the 2 house dogs Elliott and Cerise; very accommodating staff. The location of this small, luxury, family run hotel is perfect for exploring the magnificent medieval city of Carcassonne. Picture postcard perfection. the Hotel is situated as close as possible to the Cite of Carcassonne - the view from the hotel bar to the Cite is breath taking. Carcassonne was beautiful and interesting and worth seeing. given the price of the room and it was out of season I think it is unnecessary to charge for parking. Nothing negative to say. Corridor was unlit and i fell on an unmarked step. Fairly small rooms though beautifully finished. No restaurant. Wi Fi dreadful, non existent in the rooms. Annoying as had to go through logging in process despite an option not to. Bathroom too small, cannot move in the shower. Breakfast 15 euros but little choice ok if you are staying 1 or 2 nights. Just a tad pricey for us. The spa wasn't heated up when we tried it out. room was tiny/cumbersome no coffee or tea or fridge in room. Very very small room with tiny stair case, you need to request ground floor or pool rooms. When paying this kind of money you need to compare the hotel to others in the same range so to be critical the rooms are small for the price. Because we added another night to the one booked, we were given Room 11 which is up a narrow staircase and only suitable for one person. With suitcases in the room, the only place to sit was on the bed. Far too small for €190 a night sadly. Expensive. There was nothing We did not like. The weather!,,,. Room was right next to a road, window opened onto a public pavement. Would avoid if possible. Decoration a little dingy and lacked charm. Although room comfortable overall. Garden surrounded by roads and traffic so not as peaceful as we'd hoped. Town is very touristy. The cleanliness are really poor, the bathroom was "heavy" dirty. over rated. Very small room for the price. No view. No elevator or offer of help getting luggage downstairs to the room. Had a small amount of laundry done and was horribly overcharged for it - €90 for a few items (a later hotel charged €15 for the same amount of laundry). Poor service in the bar/restaurant area.
