Authentic Luxury Rooms is also 300 metres from the ferry port and the main bus-and railway station. All rooms are spacious, air-conditioned and provide a flat-screen TV and a massage shower. The property is housed in 2 UNESCO-protected buildings over 300 years old, approximately 150 metres apart. During the complete renovation in 2007 the original stone walls were kept on the outside and the inside, creating a unique and historical atmosphere.

Staff were amazing. I spent two nights at the Authentic Luxury in Split. The staff took the time to share the history of their home and were very helpful. Staff took great pride in their facilities. I will visit stay at the Authentic Luxury Rooms again during my next visit to Split. Excellent location for going to the palace, bus station and pier. Staff are nice and helpful. The room is clean, tidy and comfortable. It seems that it had been renovated recently. The price is reasonable for such good quality. I would choose it again if I go there again.

Otherwise, all was great. We occupied the room on the ground floor. Natural light is limited, and the bathroom is rather small. Nevertheless, we have appreciated the good confort of the room. I was a little scared at first as some of the rooms (3 of them) are in a different building that looks terrible from the outside.... nothing. The room we had booked was unavailable for the first night of our stay, (we assume double booked) so we were given another room (which was in fact an upgraded room). This was fine but it was an inconvenience to move rooms after one night. That said, they could not have been more apologetic and gave us a bottle of cava to make up for the inconvenience. Absolutely nothing. the view from the room. No telephone. Very hard to get to with a car, not easy to find overall with gps. Room 1 needed the ac on to fight a slight musty smell - but it did. The staff was very lazy in cleaning our room. Overall, the service was just too minimalist and too basic. So with this said, I would not recommend this place to stay. The portable shower stall was ridiculous!!! it was way too small. Along with the bathroom being too small. room 3 = dark room with 1 little window going to dark alleyway room had a very strong perfume scent which made me feel sick a bit too expensive for what it was in the end. We rent two half basement rooms. One of them was terrible. It was difficut to get on the bed.

You can reach Split by the ferryboat liner which connects the cities Rijeka on the north and Dubrovnik on the south. Also, local ferry lines are available for all the central Dalmatian islands. There are fast and regular ferry lines going from Ancona and Pescara, Italy, to Split. There are also train connections from Split to the north of the country and further on to the rest of Europe, which all have an option of car transfer.
