We loved our stay at Seventh Heaven hotel! It was in a fantastic location - right on the main pedestrian shopping mall in the heart of Shanghai, and only a few minutes walk from the line 2 Metro stop. The room was great - spacious, with a desk, fridge, tea making facilities, two arm chairs and a coffee table. Lots of space for our one year old to play in! The bathroom had a shower over the bath, which was great for giving our little boy a bath in.
all reviews » This hotel is in a great location on a pedestrian only street and close to metro train stations and many shops. The family suite was large with very comfortable beds and free bottled water! At night it was quiet after 10pm when all the shops close and the street entertainment stops. Our luggage was stored safely when we went to Hang Zhou for a night. Reception staff have good English. Hotel well situated in East Nanjing Rd above a large clothing store, within easy walking distance to subway train station, variety of places to eat,general shopping and The Bund. Staff friendly and obliging.Travel dates and train destinations were translated into Chinese for us at the reception desk. Near the lift on the ground floor train tickets can be purchased. Very convenient. The location of this hotel is absolutely perfect, on East Nanjing road, for shopping. Metro is also 2 mins away. And a big bonus, the jump on / jump off bus stopps exactly at the front door of the hotel. Room was very v big, free water via small chiller in room, safe in room, good shower and very comfortable bed. Staff helpful for what we asked. Although the rooms are small, I liked the hardwood flooring and the old fronted glass window. The staff were great. Due to excessive shopping by my friends we need to make last minute arrangement for transportation to the airport. The receptionist managed to get two vans for us after making a few phone calls. The location was excellent. We stayed here at the beginning of our trip and again at the end. The first stay was not very good as they gave us a room with 2 single beds when we booked a king room. The second stay was much better with a much more comfortable king size bed and a larger room. Situation is very good directly in Nanjing street und in the middle of two Underground stations. We requested a large double bed when we booked, but got given twin large singles instead and there were no double rooms that they could move us to. The breakfast that was included in the room rate only included a few Chinese options, which we only attempted to eat in on the first morning. The lunch menu was similar. The Guy on Reception Desk at night did not lift his eyes from the game he was playing on his cell phone and claimed he couldn't help me because he didn't understand English!. We were very happy with the hotel . Breakfast did not work for us - we love Chinese food, but sorry, not so keen on noodles and dumplings in the morning, Unfortunately there was no toast. No problem though - McDonald's breakast was just opposite the hotel. The Chinese can be noisy neighbours. It is in the shopping are which has it pros but also cons, especially after a couple of days. You can take the elevator directly to your floor without ever seeing any staff during your stay, so it might feel kind of impersonal/ anonymous. Restaurant not that good. Beds very firm not what we are used too. Insufficient western breakfast. Also, inconsistencies with staff. Over weekend could have bread, butter and jam as well as fried eggs. However, weekday had no western food at all. The only issue was the noise, but that comes with the location!. Cleaning staff could put more effort to their jobs. The breakfast was basic Chinese, better option is the street food which is fresh and delicious. Look down the side streets. In any industry there needs to be more flexibility. Specially where people are in need of relaxation and fun. The cheaper the hotel the more facilities people will use. Service and passion over all other things. A bit hard to find (the lobby is on the 7th floor), staff can be taciturn. The breakfast is the worst i had ever. Do not recommend anyone to east there. Pls upgrade the window glass for soundproofing. The single beds where like sleeping on concrete, the foyer had an awful musky smell, the bathroom in the first room leaked. Breakfast was very ordinary, luckily McDonalds, Starbucks and many other restaurants are very close by. The elevator go directly to the Rooms with your card, you do not need to pass through the reception (less control). Staff is not too frendly, they do not help you. You are charged with the total amount + 300Rmb as deposit and at checkout you are charged with the correct amount, so two charges in case you use a Visa or to much deposit im cash (to consider if it is your final destination). Only 1 very slow lift to get to and from room. Often long waits. The staff are rude. Can they be trained to speak politely please? The elevators and the hallways are dusty. They are very stingy with the toilet papers (we were provided with the previous guests' leftover toilet paper). The drinking water was only replaced during the last day of stay (5th day). The room needed dusting and one of the glass doors (shutters) was missing across the windows so that it was very noisy in the room. Breakfast was very basic and I had to wait about 10 minutes for a coffee cup. the elevator is for public, not so clean.. Not very friendly people at the reception. I had to wait to check out. TV only got one (local) English channel, standard room was pretty small--OK for one but two would feel squeezed at times. Packaged soap offered in the bathroom was very poor quality--very difficult to lather up in shower. Placement of plugs for charging/connectivity was poor. long wait due to a single lift serving all the floors. blanket was found with plenty of long hairs left behind by last user. Breakfast, considering all the Non-Asian guests they could have supplied at least toast or cereal. After the first day it was Mac Donalds for us. the room was really not clean,under the sofas and beds were all dust,we asked to clean but not response. Reception Speak English very bad Retaurant service. The breakfast was horrible and tasteless with same menu repeated everyday. No fruits were served and if you are vegetarian then avoid this hotel. staff no good service. cleanliness is very poor.. I checked in a room with stains on floor and stains on the desk.. I reported that but the reaction was quick but very poor as well, most of the stains remained the same .. linen had hair within and stains of food. No wireless and no hot water in shower. old, under maintenance, no signboard for hotel direction.
