Everything is just excellent and above the expectations. One small thing that migh be noticed. I stayed at room 402 room which is actually above the bar. Albeit it was the 4 th floor, the music from the bar is heard in the bedroom. The music is nice, but I suppose it shouldn't be heard in the room. Anyway, it's the guest's choice to listen it or not. To other visitors- be aware of the weekends parties at the hotel. It a little be croud there and the parking lot is really full- the problem to fi.
all reviews » Big clean spacious room with mini fridge. Some of the furniture showed signs of wear. Bed was comfortable. I chose this hotel because it was on the outer skirts of the city. I read from other reviews that the city had alot of construction going on so I wanted to avoid that. This hotel is a 2 minute walk to the subway. Continental breakfast, WiFi and parking were free. I paid $289 plus taxes for a king room. There is a park next to the hotel. Food was excellent at the restaurant. We are three guys from China to do business here. Our business partners are located in Etobicoke and Downtown. So my relative here helped us book Old Mill. It's really convenient for us to stay in the middle of these two destinations and so close to the subway station. We travelled the world and stayed in almost all major chain hotels so far, and Old Mill is really unique and has its special charm. We are happy we found it. We especially liked the tranquility and the scent throughout the hotel. The dinning room offers an excellent continental breakfast as well as fine dinning. The Old Mill is a wonderful place to relax and offers the convenience of access to the subway station that is just a few steps away. We enjoyed doing the fast lane during the day and relax at the Old Mill at night. Can't wait to go back in the near future. I expected the Old Mill to be a "typical" B&B, since it was on the letsbookhotel.com B&B list. Much to my amazement the Old Mill far exceed our expectations - a convenient location next to a Metro stop, the large and well appointed rooms, the helpfulness of the staff, and the large buffet breakfast. Our group of four stayed four nights at the Old Mill and felt that this was indeed a "best buy". Lovely comfortable room made us very happy and the turn-down service at night was a wonderful treat. The provided bathrobes were great too! We were there for a wedding & it was so beautiful - the food was fantastic and the grounds are like an oasis! You feel like you've stepped back in time at the Old Mill. It was a great experience. From the minute we arrived late on Sunday night the staff couldn't have been more obliging and helpful. The Old Mill was everything we expected it to be and more. It's proximity to a subway station made travelling around the city very easy. Would definitely recommend the Old Mill. Great service. Everything was perfect. We attended a wedding of a dear friend, and were very impressed with the hotel, the staff and the facilities. Definitely want to return for a couples/spa experience. The room was beautiful, lovely decor and comfortable bed, lovely bedding.It was clean and had a spa freshness to it.The grounds are just beautiful and well kept. DBL Queen Rooms which have a separate Living Room with a large pull out sofa for another person,as they have a private area. we had a wonderful time at 'old mill'. The phone service was apparently down, due to the recent flooding, but they kept trying to fix it. internet also seemed a bit spotty, but worked part of the time. The front desk people were extremely helpful and gracious. It was difficult to find. There could have been more signage or directions off the main streets.It was difficult to understand some of the staff as they spoke too fast. We were looking forward to the Saturday night dinner and dance. I found the dinner a little bland and the dance was disappointing as well.The dance was boring. Hopefully some improvements will be made in the future. In-room movie selection was very sparse. buffet food at the wedding reception was not that great. Cold Lobster with no warm butter?. No issues at all. The spa was very busy and we coudn't book the treatment we wanted. May be they should keep few more slots available for the hotel guests. I can truly find no fault. I want to live there!. No complaints whatsoever!. Noisy fan in ductwork (didn't seem to respond to "high" fan or "low" fan or "auto") So I turned it off completely. The heating elements in the fireplace might be reconnected. Takes a while to get on to finding the chapel, restaurants etc. A bit of a maze. A couple stains on furniture was only downside to the whole experience. 300$ a night made me think stains could be covered or removed. On the whole, not a very big deal. Charged my credit card 3 days prior to arrival even though I had paid extra for cancellation insurance up to one day (through online booking). The only complaint was that they haven't installed low-flow toilets.... The fact that the sofa bed in the room was pulled out and made into a bed when I returned to my room when I was a solo traveler. Very odd. A Little bit far from downtown. 35 minutes of metro needed even if the stop is very near. I had to cancel my third night and the hotel and/or letsbookhotel.com refused to provide any relief so I had to pay full value for the third night. As I may be in the area on business again I thought they would have provided some financial relief. Ice machine across the hall woke us up at 5:30 am. It was VERY noisy. Paid for bed and breakfast, wanted eggs for breakfast, they wanted to charge extra. Once is enough, breakfast paid for and eggs is breakfast.Why pay twice? Phone switchboard lousy, took my fiancee an hour to get put through to my room. Explanation given was "We're busy tonight" not good enough for the money. Left Housekeeping note asking not to leave de-caf, leave extra coffee - request ignored twice. Overall experience; I was overcharged - service needs improving. The hotel was kind of hidden and the main focus seem to be weddings. I went with my husband and three children, age range, 12-17, and they were very bored. There is no pool, which I thought was odd. There's not much for family activity. But there is nice park within walking distance. The food was okay and worth the high cost. attempted to charge my amex card $1600 was notified by amex the front desk manager was to correct it the first day and notify me never did the next day went down showed her the charge on my amex that was denied she continued to say it was not the hotels fault it was the card. Very ornery and not so bright and rude.
