The hotel staff went out of their way to make our visit special. My husband made some requests because we were staying for our 44th anniversary, and the hotel staff went beyond what he requested. The room was ready early and set up beautifully. We also ate at Epic, the restaurant at the hotel, and the food, service and ambiance was some of the best we have ever had. We were treated like royalty by Gerd, Tewalde and Mohammed, and we have already planned to return for our next anniversary. Th.

It was our winter get away the year.( Didn't have time for an island trip ) We took the train to get to Toronto, so we just walked across the street. The Royal York is so majestic that as soon as the door men open the door for you, it is like walking into another world. Everyone so helpful and polite. The Elite restaurant was fabulous. House keeping was very good. Thank you for a very relaxing and much needed vaction experien. Location was perfect for downtown activities (visit to the ROM, walked along the entertainment district). I did tell them about my concern with the communication on the construction and they did call us and apologized and responded to my concerns. Employees were very attentive. My husband and I stayed on our wedding night. We went out for dinner and wen we arrived back to our room there was sparkling wine and chocolate covered strawberries with a letter written to us in congratulations! It was a lovely surprise for us. We had a wonderful stay!. This hotel is beautiful, and luxurous while maintaining the warmth and friendliness of a intimate bed & breakfast. The service is unparalleled, the staff are wonderful, the rooms are cozy and the location is unbeatable. I always look forward to my stay here. I liked the easy access to my business meeting....I found my way around nicely....the rooms were immaculately clean...except for the crack in the bathtub which prevented us from bathing....we would stay again...the staff were all very friendly and helpful!. I was not informed when I booked on letsbookhotel.com that the hotel would be charged tot he credit card I gave and I wanted to pay cash when I checked out as I had booked 2 rooms and ended up paying on my card for the other couples room. Room, service (especially front desk) Room - very comfortable, clean, well supplied. Location - two minutes walk from train station and easy walk to downtown, cnn and harbour - excellent. Very reasonable price with letsbookhotel.com. The hotel was gorgeous ! From the moment we got there, every staff member had a smile and made us feel special. Food was awesome. Bar staff also friendly and accommidating. Had an awesome time there and would definitely return!. Everyone was attentive, friendly, courteous and above all genuinely happy to be there and to assist us. Our Consierge Castell Miles was especially helpful and had a wonderful attitude. He was a pleasure to be around. It's the Royal York! History on the outside and inside! Also, can't beat the location with respect to the train station. You travel with millions who have gone before. The elevators are in pristine shape!. The professionalism was evident at every turn; from the front desk, the bell desk, the concierge, right through the wait staff and housekeeping. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We had a great time. The concierge staff were well informed. Shamini was extremely helpful. She wrote out the directions to several museums and suggested restaurants. She represented the Royal York in a very professional way. Location perfect for my friend and me. We went to the Case for dinner. This was within walking distance. The bathroom was spotless. We always try to stay here when we go to Toronto. The hotel is very stylish and central for shopping and other activities. The staff were very polite and helpful. The bed was extremely comfortable. We would definitely stay there again. We took the Via Rail and this hotel was so conveniently located to the train station and subways. We were within walking distance to so many city attractions. We loved our stay here!. This is a grand hotel. The staff call you by your title, Mr. Or Dr. They have a sense if the history and grandeur that is the Royal York. Prince Philip was a guest the day I arrived. The weather was terrible so I appreciated being connected to shopping, the subway and our meetings all underground. Our connection to Porter Airlines was also very convenient. The hotel was a great location to see Toronto, steps to the subways, walking distance to great restaurants, shows, the cn tower and shopping. The pool was a hit. Family package was phenomenal! Staff was superior and very helpful on checking in, especially and service in the pool area, room service, and with directions. This is a conveniently located hotel with charm. My queen room was adequate, although I did find it small. Nice to have a coffee maker in the room!. Clocks were not bright red, subtle and no ticking. Well appointed rooms, all the conveniences. Very attentive staff, friendly and professional. Checked-in at almost midnight after an 18-hour flight and the staff were excellent! So welcoming and it was a great start to my stay in Toronto. Again, my own fault for being in a hurry. The construction in front of the hotel (was not well communicated. A post on the website is not good enough. They should Send an E-mail to tell what is happening and how to get around it, parking etc.). Drinks in the bars seem very expensive. The drinks were very good; however prices were far too expensive. We didn't like how when we moved everything in the mini fridge to put our own stuff in we didn't find the note in the drawer until later stating that if we moved anything there were sensors and we had to pay for what we moved and the prices were rediculous. We put everything back and paid it anyway as a tip. But we weren't impressed. That was a sneaky way to scam money when we were already paying 320$ for our sleep. The crack in the bathtub. Usual mini bar extortion - small bottle of water 6 dollars. Loved everything !. There was absolutely nothing to dislike. We would have appreciated a door between the bedrooms and the sitting room. Loved it all. There isn't anything that we didn't like. Library Bar was a bit noisy but staff was excellent . Unfortunately Front Street is totally under construction right now so access was a bit challenging and the street was noisy and busy with construction workers, but this had nothing to do with the hotel itself. No view from the room, basically just the wall of a tall building next to the hotel. Could use a piano/jazz bar in the hotel. Room was rather small. Street was completely torn up in front of hotel. When reading on line it said that parking was $28.95 a day. When I got my bill it was $48.00 per day. The front desk receptionist was very nice and explained that it was valet only and she would check on the on line pricing. Bathrooms were a bit dated. Affected adversely by construction outside (another 2 years). The standard lower level rooms are no better than a budget motel, but you are paying the cost of a luxury hotel that is located downtown. They also charge you for everything, $48/night for parking. This is one of the most expensive rates that I found in all of downtown Toronto and if you need the internet be prepared for an additional $15/night charge as well. breakfast is not included and internet for extra charge. As noted on the website, construction created a little problem on the street. No free wifi, fast food and coffeeshops and most hotels I staff with offer free internet than it is a major annoyance to be charged for basic wifi for have to go to the nearest Tim's to check a few emails. Offer basic free service throughout the hotel but also offer a high security, highspeed connection that business and security concious users would be willing to pay for. Valet parking was expensive $100 for two nights. Restaurants were expensive. The road work out front of the hotel was a pain with a lot of road closures. How worn down the carpet and couches are in the room. There are more than 4 questions in this review even though the request stated 4 questions. Location of room. Next to elevator. Sound of elevator cause restless sleep. The cost. all the construction surrounding the hotel, noisy, congested. The television didn't work only sometimes and the tub leaked water. Rooms were uninspiring, phone in the room didn't work. basin plug didn't hold water. Slow response to re-allocating room. Ridiculously expensive services like breakfast, afternoon tea, etc. Nothing.
