What people say
The hotel is located on one of the most beautiful streets of Quebec City with lots of old houses, churches and classy restaurants . It is also a very convenient place to visit the old and best part of the city, including the castle, the citadel, the parliament and the park. A short walk to the castle at night via Grand Allee boulevard is highly recommended. All the staff (particularly Sharon) were very friendly and helpful. Not vey far from the city, about 15-minute drive to view the Montmo. all reviews »
Best value-for-money we experienced during a road trip around Atlantic Canada! Lovely, well-appointed room, clean and quaint facilities, lovely staff and perfect location for walks around the citadel, old city, museums or picnics at the nearby park (we did it all!) Free breakfast includes table service in a bright dining room - very nice touch. This trip was our honeymoon, on a budget, and I'd say that for any sensibility, this hotel provides the ideal BnB style accommodation, right in the m.
This is a very quaint place to stay. Loved that it was a home over 100 years old but was very well maintained with a modern feel. The staff were wonderful and advised us of places we could see and walk to. Within walking distance (15 min) to all the sights in Old Quebec. It was fun sitting on the porch (with a cool beverage) imagining what it would be like when the beautiful homes in the area were first built and just watching the people go by.
The location was perfect, next to battle field park and minutes from the gate to Old Quebec. But far enough away from the night life so we sleep well. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast included was a bonus and enough to keep us going until lunch. Room was small but clean and comfortable.
This hotel was wonderful. The staff excellent and the rooms beautifully decorated. The breakfast was lovely and it was especially good to have proper cutlery and china not styrofoam!!!
The setting was superb near to the Heights of Abraham and only a short walk from some excellent restaurants.
The location is central, within minutes of great restaurants. The room was comfortable. The wifi worked great. The staff made you feel welcomed and was quick to offer assistance. I have stayed at many places but I was truly impressed at how customer service friendly the staff was.
The unflagging friendliness and helpfulness of the entire staff--a kind of hospitality rare in a lodging these days. The location was ideal: in a stylish neighborhood, with amenities nearby but outside the Old City, so that one felt untrammeled by the hordes of daily tourists.
Very friendly and accommating staff. I understand French but
don't speak it well, and the staff were happy to speak to me in
English. The location is great--only a block from the Plains of
Abraham, and everything historic is walkable from here. I highly
recommend this place.
I thought the staffs were very hospitable and professional. Also, the location of the hotel is perfect, very close to the old Quebec, the Battlefield Park, and the Museum of Art. I also thought the neighborhood seem very safe and quiet.
beautiful older manor with convenient updates, and charming appointments;
staff extremely helpful with city information;
continental breakfast was good, and served in a pretty room;
we stayed for 3 nights, and would definitely go back.
It is really 5-10 mins walk to the old city. Everyone of the staff were all very helpful. Renè in particular went way beyond for us. The place was very charming and cozy. I would stay here once more if I'm ever in Quebec again.
Location is the best part. We didn't need our vehicle all weekend.
The staff were friendly and welcoming always. It was very relaxing and
quiet considering our room was near the entry way. I would stay again,
absolutely !.
The accommodations were good and the staff very friendly, helpful. Beautiful location near a fantastic, historic park and easy walking distance to a chic restaurant area on Rue Cartier.
We had a semi basement room and it was very spacious, which is great when you are living out of 2 suitcases. It was close to lots of restaurants and about 15 mins walk to the old town.
excellent location.. walkable to centre of quebec with all its activities. Choice of restaurants just minutes walk away. Friendly staff, good breakfast and even a parking space!.
The location, service and value were excellent! A very cosmopolitan feel with language comfort in French, English and Spanish....very helpful throughout our stay.
Home-like ambiance. Cozy room, great breakfast with staff attentive to any need. Location close to walled city, Plains of Abraham, and neighborhood restaurants.
I´ve really enjoy the staying in this hotel. Employees were verey friendly an kind. Facilies are good, creating a familiar environment. looking like home.
Everything was great. However, the reception does not work 24 hours.
Nevertheless, they let you know that in advance so you don't have
any problems.
Hotel & rooms are very cozy & charming. Free Wi-Fi and
free breakfast. Located very near Old Quebec is a great location.
Staff was nice.
Location is excellent and staff was very helpful. Everything was clean. Fireplace was great because it was extremely chilly weather.

Good size room with King size bed.
Good breakfast and good service.
Friendly staff --great location -comfortable room- parking was extra but reasonable and convenient--breakfast was generous.
The location was great ,just a short walk to Old Quebec. Quiet , clean ,good breakfast and the staff were very friendly.
The Staff were very friendly, welcoming and professional. Besides that the location was very convinient.
very friendly, unique atmosphere and felt like home in a beautiful old house. great location. great value.

Nice staff, excellent location close to Old town, and only few meters
from Bars and Restaurants area.
Cute, castle style hotel.
Close to Old Quebec and restaurants.

Great breakfast.
Staff at the desk were friendly and helpful. Great location to access Grand Allee and Old Quebec.
Staff could not be more friendly and helpful. Location great. Rooms comfortable wifi works well.

Excellent location. Close to reasonably priced restaurants. Close to attractios.
The staff were excellent and provided an excellent service in all respects.
Very welcoming. Always available to us. Just a short walk to the old city.
Loved the hotel loved Quebec. Would have stayed longer if we could have.
The location is excellent.........can't beat it if you know Quebec City.

Exceptional location, very good value, very helpfull staff.
Friendly atmosphere.
Good location.
Clean and professional.
The helpful staff, good breakfast and near the old city.
location, price, clean, comfortable, helpful people.
Parking is rather limited. However, the hotel staff is quite helpful to assist to find other parking spots without problems, if needed.
I'd really be searching here... no coffee maker in the room... and I was offered parking and had not been explained that there was a cost associated until check out, so that unexpected cost was a negative. But at $12 or $13 per day on-sight parking, it was nice not to have to worry about or move the car (hotel in a very walkable area). Otherwise we slept great and really enjoyed our stay!.
Not really a big deal for us, but after a day of walking and walking we had to walk up 4 flights of stairs to get to our room. Topped off our workout! Could be a problem for the elderly or disabled.
We had two double beds for our stay and they were both very saggy in the middle and it was very uncomfortable when sleeping. Other than that, very clean room.
I would have liked a firmer (newer?) mattress.
Please be aware that parking is 12cad per night.
Parking isn't great...we got lucky! Another couple happened to be
leaving and we waited for their spot. If you need to park in the
driveway that is provided there is a fee of almost 15 dollars a day and
you are not guaranteed to be blocked in..ugh.
Some street noise from late night revelers. However, with A/C on this was mooted.
building work occuring across the road started early but then this is a city..
Rooms are a bit outdated, particularly in the comforters...but very much in 'Vieux-Quebec period style'!.
There was nothing I didn't like. Drawbacks for some might be the lack of an elevator and weak WiFi signal on the 3rd floor.
No elevators (since I had 2 huge suitcases of samples to cary up &
down the stairs 2x day) it wasn't convenient for me. Parking charge
is a rip-off since the parking is nothing more than a small driveway and
cars have to moved around for people to leave. It'd be much better
to include that extra charge to the room price & not charge for the
additional parking.
Rooms has no view at all (104 it's behind reception). Bathroom needs some basic renovation.
Bed was a bit hard but reasonably comfortable.
nothing.
The room had very little natural light.
No hot food (other than Croissants) on the breakfast menu.
Coffee making facilities in the room were good, but supplies of ingredients minimal.
Small, out-dated TV.
No elevators.
Room was missing a garbage can and no spare toilet paper. Coffee in the room was not provided for the second morning.
Parking is a problem if you don't book with the hotel in advance you cud get a parking tickets like I did parking outside in side street. Parking anywhere in Quebec is prone to misinterpretation of French signage.
Slightly dated furnishings, TV was 13 inch CRT that I never turned on.
Nothing.
The room was an attic room and rather small in bedroom area. In danger of banging head!!.
Not staying longer.
The room was rectangular shape with a 12" TV ..................kind of hard to see. This must be upgraded to today's standards.
nothing.
Long walk from the train station with bags.
extra cot was slightly uncomfortable.
Nothing.
