Pousada Redfish - Photos
What people say
Our overall experience in Salvador was amazing due in no small part to
Pousada Redfish. From our personal welcome by Charles, the owner, to the
helpful stuff, including Felipe and Martos, to the amazing breakfast
each morning, Pousada Redfish is a true lodging gem. We stayed in Room
5, which includes a small balcony facing the posada entrance, and were
pleased with the ample room and cleanliness of the room. Showers were
always hot and with good water pressure. The in-room safe was
indispensabl. all reviews »
Redfish is quirky in the best possible way: the artwork, the indoor jungle garden. It's small so you can get to know other travellers. The staff is helpful but not intrusive. The breakfasts are wonderful.
Salvador can be a bit daunting so it's good to be just on the edge of Pelhourino but only 5 mins walk downhill.
The decoration is very nice, the rooms are large, the breakfast is delicious, with a lot of freshly made pastries. The poussada is located in a quiet place, where we never noticed the slightest security problem.
Very helpful staff who gave us clear and accurate advice. Fair breakfast. Good location. Very good interior design and comfortable courtyard by our bedroom. wet-room good too.
The space within the hotel was great -- bright colors, hammocks in the indoor garden, and stunning roof top views of Salvador. Location central for exploring.
Location close to tourist center but in a quiet area and safe
Tastefully decorated
Nice old building well restored
Helpful staff
Excellent breakfast.
Fun arty pousada, breakfast, location in the historic center.
Spacious rooms, close to Pelourinho. Very good breakfast.
Spacious and clean room. Any positives completely offset by many negatives.
I can honestly not think of anything I could say that I disliked. If
forced to name one thing, I would have to say that I dislike the
paranoia of many websites about the safety of Salvador. If you exercise
common sense, avoid dark streets at night, and are always aware of your
surroundings, then you will have absolutely no problems in Salvador.
no one spoke English, no good recommendations for dinner, be very aware if staying here the historic center is pretty funky, also VERY noisy.
Wifi doesn't work so good in all the rooms.
Buth the biggest problem is the street-noice. If you are a light sleeper (like I am), you can expert a few sleepless nights (sometimes till deep in the night). Horrible.
Location in an unsafe and very noisy neighbourhood. Staff does not speak english and british owner of the pousada was never there. No useful tips to visit Salvador at all. Proposed tour to coast was not worthwhile and too expensive. Taxi driver suggested by the hotel charges very high rates. A disappointment.
