The poussada is very pretty and gives you the authentic feel. I selected this poussada as when I saw the pictures, cleanliness just stared at me and truly the place is the cleanest that I went to in all of Brazil. The staff is excellent. Diana, Sandro, Julian make you feel at home, chat with you, give you suggestions, and really care about our time in Salvador. The owners I believe live in Italy, but their staff more than take care of you. Excellent place. For some reason Salvador seemed quite.
all reviews » We enjoyed our stay at Pousada Colonial very much. We stayed only one night and wish we have stayed longer. The hotel is an old beautiful building located close (10-15 minute walk) to the historical center of Salvador. We loved bright and tasteful interior of the hotel. The room was beautiful and clean. Staff was wonderful, most of them spoke English. The girl at the reception (unfortunately I don't know her name) was incredibly helpful - she helped us to check in on our flight (wi-fi internet . Pousada Colonial was the perfect place to stay for myself and my 12 year old daughter when we visited Salvador, Bahia, recently. The pousada is run by a wonderful young couple who went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Diane and her husband (as well as all the staff) were so welcoming and friendly (Diane even gave us a samba lesson!). The rooms were airy and clean; we even had a small deck with a hammock. The location was perfect as well; far enough from town to be rela. FABULOUS It's a fantastic restored old mansion just outside the main area so it has a lot of local character. The location is fantastic 5 minutes walk from the main too touristed area.Beautiful rooms and breakfast area and great breakfast. The staff Diana and her husband could not have done more for me, helping with advice on tours, restaurants etc, also with phone calls when I was in a bit of a state over my Australian Visa cancellation. The stuff were extremity friendly and helpfull , exspacially Diana.They help us to arrenge our next trip to Morro De Sao Paulo.The pousada is in an old building which was renovate in good taste .Exellant location for touring the old city .The breakfast was generous .we liked our staying at pousada Colonial very much. A reasonable walk to the main historic area. We did not feel unsafe walking around, even at night. extremely friendly and helpful staff they go the extra mile to help you. Brilliant location easy access to main attractions in old city great and comfortable architecture design. Location is very convenient, close to most attractions, but not too crowded and noisy. Everything!!!. Nice location just a fraction away from historic area so you have easy access but avoid the late night music. Breakfast very good. Very attractive building and interior. Internet is a bit slow but I know they are working on it so should improve shortly. Wi-fi connection was very bad, almost no connection. Being an old historic building, the rooms in the pousada were not very soundproof, especially with regard to upstairs neighbors (think loud voices, shoes dropping, etc.). However, this was not a major drawback. The bathroom in our room was connected to the bathroom in the adjoining room by way of a wall that didn't extend to the ceiling. We could hear everything that the people in the next room did in their bathroom - and I assume they could hear what we did too! Wifi was not the best, although it was free. Nothing. Wooden floors mean it is a bit noisy if the people above have heavy feet. Wifi didn't really work for all four days we stayed. Bit disappointed to get a room with windows that opened up to the landing, which effectively meant we didn't really have windows. Might as well have paid less and got room with no windows.
