Staff was informative and very friendly. Hotel location was perfect for us. Taxi service a half a block up the street ready to take you anywhere you would want to go. We were very comfortable and would stay there again. all reviews » Old wooden Victorian style house, very spacious room, safe & quiet location, helpful staff. The room was really big n romantic. The staff are all friendly , kind. I had great time. Walking distance to town and Large room and bathroom. Staff in the receptipn; le petit pain next door. The room was spacious and exactly the style which we expected Really nice architecture Receptionists were friendly. A real old colonial style building. Very well placed staff very freindly restaurant very good. The staff. Very little. Nothing...had a great time. Requested One QN bed....got two (Also seemed small for a QN) Understood we would have private entrance to balcony...nope!!. air conditioning unit worked ok but very very noisy and probably old. but I noticed some rooms have new units. There is not much to do in the city, not many eating options in the neighborhood although the Smokey Mermaid is good in the hotel; only 1 complimentary bottle of water provided per day even though we were a couple. There is a one restaurant. The foods mostly bad. N the staff were unfriendly. Belize City has lots of beggars. They are trying to improve the area for cruise passengers. You can't be out walking after dark. Restaurant; breakfast is not included, 'voucher' enough for 20% of it! Room: turning the main lamp on implies having the fan on. This is really not good value for the money you pay- no night clerk, no availability of drinking water, nothing of the facilities you normally get in a hotel of this price range. The breakfast voucher (5 $) in the adjacent coffe shop is a joke. The restaurant in the courtyard looks nice, is expensive but has unfriendly service and grubby table cloth. According to hotel staff it is not safe/ recommended to walk throughout the neighbourhood after dark. The booking was for Double Room with Two Double Beds - Breakfast included well in the room was a sign that the breakfast was a voucher for Belize $ 5 which should be for 1 cup of coffee and 2 pieces of bakings at the shop next door, this was not really right as we hardy got 1 coffee and one croisant. Surelly for the costs of the room they should do what theys said in the booking, included breakfast !!. Cost of accomadations. Pricey for what you get. Noisy airconditioner Noisy ceiling fans Did not sleep Not a comfortable King Bed too expensive. It did not have an elevator, I'm handicap and the room was on the 3rd floor. There was no room service. I left a day early and they still charged me the entire amount even though I left a day early, due to not wanting to be at the hotel.
