I personally only booked rooms for my boss/colleagues to stay sounfortunately did not stay myself. However, I am told that this hotel isabsolutely superb, the staff are very friendly and the executive suite'sare quite simply 'stunning' . Would have no hesitation in recommendingthis hotel and they can't wait for the opportunity to return! Superb!. Very good location, lovely reception, great breakfast, spotless communal areas and a very nice room indeed. Staff were helpful and knew the area well. I am not the type to recommend everything as supported by other comments, but this was outstanding and I will certainly use this group again in the future.
all reviews » We were very happy with this hotel the location, the staff, the room we had was a standard double and was spacious. the breakfast had a very good choice.We have stayed in many hotels in europe, and feel this was one of the better hotels. It appeared we where up graded from a delux room to an executive room, which was of an impressive size, walk in wardrobe separate toilet separate shower and bath and a joy to stay in. Late check out on Sunday 5pm, a nice bonus.Ideally located for us, late chech out on a sunday was really helpful. We got upgraded and the room was very spacious (walk in wardrobe!) and comfortable. Excellent all round!. Very beautiful, tidy and clean rooms; located in the centre of Gent; parking garage; very good breakfast, very friendly and helpful staff. It was a great location, very good value for the money and the staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was satisfactory, staff did not serve tea and coffee , food was not hot sausages etc lack of attention to detail was much the same as lower rated accommodation. No english tea!. The water in theshower was not always warm. Airconditioning wasnt very good - so the room was a bit too warm. The heating seemed to be centrally controlled - very nice temperature during the day, but too hot for us at night, Luckily the windows in our room opened fully but it didn't appear that all windows in all the rooms did, so might be worth checking if you prefer it cooler..We had no view from our room windows but a wall. We understand thereasons, however. Space in Gent is at a premium. No ,this a wonderfull hotel.(Well perhaps upgrading the decor in the restaurant).Having breakfast at the hotel would have cost 20E so we went to one of the numerous cafes nearby that served breakfast which was more fun in any case. The only problem with our rooms was we did not have instant hot water and had too wait for it to warm up at least five minutes.the coffee machine in my room was not working. Noise in the room next to us late at night, but was dealt with promptly when brought to staff attention.young staff. Call the hotel after you made the booking with booking.com as the information is not transferred well. I made a reservation for double-bed but got only twin-bed room. I was told that this happened more often and that they don't get the information correctly from booking.com.A/C a little loud although not during the night. Room a little bit too hot during the night (could not change anything to A/C). Some of the light switches in the bedroom did not work. Having paid the bill at reception including the charge for the car park we were not given the token to allow us to exit the car park and had to return to the reception desk in order to leave the hotel. This is a minor inconvienience but a little frustrating at the end of our stay.Glass piece on the carpet and the sink in the bathroom was leaking. I visit the hotel about this time every year. This year they seem to have made some cost cuttings to the service. No tea or coffee making facilities. No help with car parking or help with luggage. Only small things, but.Breakfast was overpriced. Very difficult to reach by car. Based on the room alone we thought that this hotel only just scraped into the Four Star category. We had some minor irritations, mainly to do with erratic Housekeeping and the buffet breakfast---plastic eggcups and chipped crockery in a Four Star hotel??!! However, we have no major complaints to make against NH Gent Belfort.Some improvements need to apply to the room clearance. And continue with Promo rates!. Poor room service.
