We were lucky to have a river view which was the icing on the cake. The hotel is 50m from the market square, an ideal location, but was not noisy at all. We got a smoking room, after reporting this at reception we were assigned a nosmoking room. breakfast poor, sauna should be free of charge. We were told breakfast was served until 11. It stopped at 10. Slight water leak from the room above (mentioned it to the hotel staffto sort out). Although a no smoking room, the room we were given reeked of smoke. It was impregnated into the furnishings and fabric of the room. Despite nu,erous requests to have something done about it such as a thorough clean and fresh pillows, quilt etc. nothing was done. Out of desperation we resorted to burning fragranced candles to disgiuse the smell! Such a shame. Breakfast could be a little bit better. expensive hotel and expensive breakfast. We had one of the more modern rooms which was quite small and a bit dated. I think the rooms pictured on the website don't accurately reflect the majority of bedrooms.proprety(windows) and a lot of litle problems in the bathroom. the smell. Standard rooms are really step down for the superior rooms. It seems they also spend less effort cleaning/repairing them. Some rooms are noisy until 11 PM or so (De Fabriek, a 3-story youth club with lod music, is next to the hotel). As for the so-called "fitness room"... well, if I was the hotel, I would not even advertise it... the wifi signal is extremely weak in some rooms, so I strongly advise to ask for an ether net cable at the reception upon check-in.wine in minibar was off (second time!). Sorry, but we had a very bad experience. We asked for a room in a quietlocation when booking and repeated this when checking in. The room wasbeautiful but was located on 1st floor overlooking street + car-park. Itwas in original part of building so had 3 huge stained-glass windows (sono double glazing) and inadequate heating. We spent a totally sleeplessnight 'cos of noise (drunken revellers?. Service level personal; mosquito’s in the room; old rooms. room not clean, wall paper falling from the wall, room design not acceptable,.

You follow in the direction of Gent-Centrum. In Ghent itself you follow the yellow “P-route”. Afterwards you keep on following the boulevard until the end and turn right (Zuidstationstraat). You reach the St-Annaplein. You take the fourth street on your right (Keizer Karelstraat) and go straight on (via St-Jacobs-nieuwstraat and the Vlasmarkt) until you reach a roundabout (at St-Jacobs-Beverhoutplein). You take the fourth street on your right (Ottogracht). At the end of the street, before the bridge, you turn left and a few metres further you see the “Ghent River Hotel” in the Waaistraat 5+.
