We arrived from our cruise ship early in the morning and the receptionist immediatly said she would contact houskeeping and see how long it would be before we could book in. We went down town for a couple of hours and when we got back the room was ready for us. They had stored our baggage safely for us while we were away. The huge room (it was more like an apartment) had a partial view of Darling Harbour which was great and everything was spotless. The bathrom was huge and if we had been stay.
all reviews » We loved how close the hotel was to everything - Darling Harbour, Town Hall Station, QVB. The hotel was well maintained, the rooms quite soundproof when the balcony doors are closed. Also loved that there was a balcony so that you were not confined to an air conditioned box - fresh air was able to be let in. Was also great that the accommmodation was an apartment so we could make our own meals if we wanted and also wash and dry clothes, which was a blessing as hwe got drenched by the rain on . The staff were delightful and obliging from check in, room service and any house keeping requests. The decor was fresh and clean. Breakfast which was included in the tariff was delicious and had everyone in our family covered. Stay frequently in the city and will absolutely stay again at the Mantra on Kent. The location was perfect. We had the most beautiful harbour views and when we walked out the front door we were right in the city...walking distance. Loved our stay very much. Staff were very friendly and helpful. When we arrived the TV wouldn't turn on. They sent someone within minutes and exchanged the remote. Very clean and location within about 100m to Town Hall station where a Woolworths located opposite the Town Hall, also the Free bus stop. Behind hotel, about 5 minutes walk Darling Harbour where free Wifi. Highly recommend and would stay next time. Great location, room was quiet with a very comfy bed and an attractive, new fit-out. Staff were wonderfully helpful and friendly. I was able to have an early check-in and they were happy to store my luggage until the afternoon of the day I checked out. I was travelling on business and this hotel was perfect. I even had a nice little view of darling harbour. Pleasantly surprised at size of the room and comfort. It was a very last minute decision as I was too intoxicated to drive and did the safe thing! Check in girls were great so was the gentle man who helped me work out my key when I got in late!. The staff were very friendly and professional. Upgrade to one bedroom apt was much appreciated. Great Thai restaurant recommended. They are very heavy and awkward when you have luggage, hand bags and carrying jackets and coats, or shopping bags after a day in the city. Definitely need to be automated or revolving.. The hot water in the shower is very very hot and easy to burn a child. I had to play with it alot as an adult to be able to shower. Maybe they need to turn the hot water down as the kitchen sink water was very hot too. the walls were a little thin - I could hear the neighbours talking. Absolutely nothing!. Nothing. The soup.......but I spoke to the GM about this. No gym. Expensive wifi . Bed too close to window on one side - circa 25cms. This due entirely to room layout. Height of eating bar - too high for comfort. Standard table with conventional chairs would be more pleasant rather than bar type stools. Need more than one Internet Kiosk at reception. Quite often I didn't have the time to sit and wait for another user to finish up. Our wake up call did not happen no instruction booklet on how to set the clock radio alarm. Small bathroom, only one TV which was in the lounge (a TV in the bedroom would have been appreciated). cheap brand of coffee sachets. Deck was really grungy. Refurbishment would be nice to lift the quality of the room. I didn't use it at all as it was really quite awful. The towels were small and thin but replaced with better ones later in our stay. No free wifi. Clothes drying machine didn't work. Staff took 30 min to find clothes drying rack which caused inconvenience, no compensation offered. Water temperature in shower varies significantly between cold and hot for no.apparent reason. Arrived in room to a flood on the floor ?related to fridge. More wardrobe. no aircon in the bedroom only in the living room this meant the bedroom was quite cold whereas the liivng room was nice and warm. the water for making a cup of tea was terrible. Lounge furniture was a bit uncomfortable. The shower was hard to regulate, that needs to be fixed, as someone could easily be burnt with the hot water. On arrival, information on Shuttle to Airport and use of Umbrellas not given. Also when requesting what time it would take to Airport by Shuttle, incorrect info was given. They told me 3/4 hour and it took 1.5 hours, I would have got the train if I had known that and may have missed my check-in time. No Gym or pool. Need cheaper wireless access. Rooms a little small. Room could have been warmer. Shower hard to get a warm temp to hot or to cold Internet trouble but I was not charged.
