Great location for my purposes. Good on site parking at reasonable rates. Rooms are comfortable and nicely re-furbished. This is a comfortable value for money hotel with good access to Prahran eateries and very conveniently located on St Kilda Road which makes it very easy to tram in and out of town. Business shuttle to Art Centre is useful fro some. We loved the bed. It was so comfortable, the best bed we have ever slept in. The staff were very helpful and polite. Everything was clean tidy and more than we had expected. We had a city view king room and it was that and more.

Being a business hotel there are plenty of early starters so be prepared to be woken early by your neighbours or disturbed late by those who play up while on business. We had to come back home. Fire Alarm at 7am in the morning Woods Restaurant Manager hurrying us up to finish at a family fathers day breakfast telling us that he was paying staff penalty rates. It was said in jest but not the usual relaxed style we were used to. Booked wrong date inadvertently late on Thursday night for Saturday night. Was charged because I didn't provide 24 hours cancellation. Website should have a warning for same day bookings to verify date especially when booking so late in the day. nothing!. lack of bar frig. quality of toilet paper . Nothing. Not being able to access the fridge. We travelled from the country, and would have liked to have kept our necessities cool.. Not much room in the car park. can't think of anything. being smokers ........................ The fridge has a seal and can only be accessed if you want something from the mini bar and contact reception. No fridge access is a big disadvantage for me. Shame because it was the only negative to staying there. parking spaces very narrow, not enough spaces available. no view from my room, hard to get to public transport, cabbie didn't know where it was (dropped me 1km away). Bathroom way to small and no bath. Room service prompt but pizza not up to standard. Felt breakfast was overpriced and had to pay for a "real" coffee on top of breakfast price. Nothing. All good. The mirror isn't flattering . The fridge is locked and you have to call someone to open it just to put a bottle if water in. I was away all day working ,arrived back at hotel at 8p.m. to find my room not cleaned..I can't believe that housekeeping can forget to do a room...I was very upset and my room was quickly cleaned and bed made but it really was a unpleasant end to my day...when all I wanted to do was relax. Also I probably have had 8 or 9 meals and only one of them has been great..it comes down to the chef really..I am not that hard to please and the hotel really need to look at the standard of the food. the slow barista in the Lime restaurant. The purpose of my trip was an appointment at The Alfred as an outpatient. Breakfast should be included in room price. Lack of trust of customers! L. nothing. The only complaint was no teaspoons for making coffee. ALso the fridge was locked which I found very unusual. You had my credit card details so I was happy to pay for beverages used. My card key somehow got disabled so I was locked out of my room. No explanation, and the front desk replaced it with minimal hassle. The lime restaurant served good food, but the menu choices were few, wish there was a more diverse menu. No wifi access which was a surprise. Nil. No free wi-fi. The staff member who looked after my check in was not too friendly. Found the breakfast service lacking too. Bar closed at 12 whilst about 10 people were still drinking. Very poor.
