We were there the first weekend that Aura opened and couldn't have been made to feel more welcome or at home. The apartment was spotless and we had everything that we needed and more! Location was better than I had hoped with a 5min walk to Southern Cross station which was perfect for the Skybus and 10min walk into the City Centre & Southbank. We will be staying here next time we go to Melbourne too!.
all reviews » We stayed here for 7 days. Great location, 3 min walk from the free city tram stop, 5 min walk to sea life, 8 min walk to crown casino and10 min walk to federation square. Very convenient! Spacious and clean room. Staff were excellent in providing assistance when required. Very fuss free. Unfortunately room wifi was down but we understand it's an isolated incident. Nonetheless, will stay here again!. I really enjoyed my stay! The room was beautifully made out, very modern and clean. Ben (one of the staff members) was very welcoming and assured me that if I needed anything at all just to call. I stayed 2 nights as I attended The Melbourne Cup. The apartment was great and a good location for the sky bus and general getting around Melbourne. It was fairly quiet com parred to a lot of places I stayed in Australia and the bed was good and comfy. It had only just opened so not sure what it will be like when it's full but I can't see any problems. Would stay again. Closeness to the train, for country travellers. Great access to restaurants and CBD. Trams to MCG, Flemington etc close by. Staff very eager to please. I have already recommended Aura to freinds, and planning our next trip, and intend to stay at Aura. The studio was very clean and easy access to the Convention Center and city shopping area. The staff was most helpful and we got excellent service. Would highly recommend this block of apartments.Price was reasonable for the location. exceptioanlly clean and efficient;perfect location to transportation and grocery shopping within 5 min walking, making arrangement for tours just round the corner, helpful staff well designed apartment for daily function. comfortable, compact, self contained, stunning views and convenient, really convenient. Less than an easy 8 minute walk to SkyBus Terminal / Southern Cross Station and a little longer than that to Federation Square. Ben was very helpfull and informative on arrival. When we arrived we couldn't get in as reception was still under construction. This isn't a problem as long as you're pre warned which we weren't through letsbookhotel.com. a bit more cooking utensils. needs a properly setup reception area to contact ; a bit difficult to find the entrance as it is a new or just renovated place. Only very minor things. It's a new development not quite finished and no washing machine / dryer intalled yet - though there's space in the bathroom for them so i assume it's only a matter of time before this is remedied. And an alarm clock / radio in the bedroom would be good - a cheap fix. Neither of these a real issue for me. Lounge and kitchen area very compact and small. very trivial things eg sometimes the smoke alarm would go off while cooking. needs more cooking equipment and coat hangers. Arriving and unable to get in or know which apartment number we had. We didn't take a cell phone for the 5 days. Luckily a resident helped us. found the dining chairs to not be of strong design. and we did have a bit of dust from new building. could have a few more kitchen pots , pans etc. needs more lighting in the kitchen and one tea towel is not enough. will be great when the laundry is finished. also couldnt use the dishwasher no instructions. not much to dislike. There was 5 of us trying to get ready using one small mirror in the bathroom, no full length mirror!. Lack of storage space for clothes, the room needs shelves. Difficult living out of suitcase due to space for things. Needs small things like a bin in the bathroom, more utensils. Could do with a small rubbish bin in bathroom and more hooks to hang clothes/towels etc. No blinds so felt like we were in Fish bowl. One key is NOT enough. Got locked out as intercom was not working. No tea towels. Not a proper ironing board. No salad bowl in kitchen so had to purchase. More glasses, plates and decent cutlery would be good. Literally the unit was new , so much so that a little attention to detail, no ironing board, carpets were not vacuumed , windows not cleaned, no curtains, so daylight hit the windows early. Hard to find as the entrance to building is in side street and no signage. Foyer area still not complete. we were on 8th floor but the sliding door to balcony did not lock. Finding a used condom under the bed when looking for my wife's earring. We would have liked to have been a bit higher up to capture more of the view from our balcony as shown in the photos on your site but apart from that everything else suited our needs. Nothing . A more comfortable lobby will be helpful, For those like us who reach the apartment earlier than the check-in time, and need to wait in the lobby. We were unable to leave our cases anywhere as we were flying out in the evening. late night party noise from room next door that woke us up at 2am! Some furniture ( coffee table ) of poor quality. only thing was we had no plug to be able to do the dishes and could not work out how to work the dish washer - purhaps some more guest info to assist here thanks and maybe some restuarant recommendations and price lists :). The address is stated as 534 Flinders Street but the Taxi could not find needs to be Catherine Place off Flinders Street. A parking ticket for parking in front of the building. as still work in progress needed a few more finishing touches. like bin in bathroom. location was good for where we needed to be, but a bit far to walk to main shopping area. Not much!. Couldn't find a fault. Room needed more mirrors. One small one wasn't enough for four people. no signage to the apartment always no staff around to pick up the intercom during office hours dim lighting at the lobby. A bit pricey, but our stay was during Melbourne cup weekend, so understandable. The view from our room wasn't very nice, but understand not every room can have a lovely view. Bed is too big for the size of the room. The apartments are still being built so first to use it no laundry facilities as yet but was offered if we wanted it done we had to ring & someone would pick it up. No information or travel brouchers in apartment which would have been extremely useful.
