Prior to arriving and paying even more per person (3 of us) to stay in youth hostels, this place lives up to its name as a "palazzo". We were greeted by two very friendly New Zealanders at reception who were full of information of things to do in Surfers Paradise. We walked into an apartment filled with comfortable sofas and armchairs and an equipped kitchen, complete with dining table. all reviews » Best value for money in the area of the gold coast. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean, big, great views of the sea and river. They had everything you needed in there! Pool and spa was nice and relaxing. Great location, 5 mins to the beach & 10 mins to the centre of surfers paradise. Bus stop behind the building to the theme parks, shopping centres or other beaches. Would recommend to anyone to stay there. Friendly staff nicely furnished apartments which were very clean and comfortable. Excellent pool area with plenty of loungers, umbrellas. and barbeque area. Short walk to beach access. Concerns about work on the light rail project outside were unfounded and although there was some noise it did not cause a problem. Extremely happy with our 10 day stay and will return. The place was great! Small apartment, built for four people. The staff were really nice and helpful. The apartment was clean, had all the utensils you need in the kitchen, a pool and gym and security was good. It was a close walk to all the shops, the beach and Caville Avenue where you can get anything to eat and go out. Loved the location, staff were very friendly even with our late check in. Location was excellent, we could look straight to the beach from our balcony. Pubs, nightclubs, restaurants and the surf life saving club were a short walk. The room was the perfect size for us, with all cooking utensils we needed, a full-sized fridge, a dishwasher, and a washer and dryer. A quiet & cozy flat just 5 minutes' walk from the most crowded shopping area. Spacious rooms with all kinds of facilities equipped (cooking facilities & cutleries & washing machines & dryers...). I liked how the apartment had all it's own facilities including a washer and dryer. Unfortunately there was a lot of roadworks at the time but thats not the hotels fault. Nothing at all. We liked every thing!!!. The "gym" wasn't worthy of the term. It was a tiny room with a few machines crammed into it, it obviously wasn't built to be a gym. Other facilities were fine, though. The internet is not free... Dated interior in some rooms, and out of the three rooms our party had there was a complete contrast. Would recommend a family get the 1 bed exec as lounge has pull out sofa bed and feels more spacious than the 2 bed. Nothing really. The bed was a little on the hard side but that just personal preference. The dryer didn't dry very well/quickly. No shampoo or conditioner. Very minor points. Reception is closed very early so do check with the reception about the working hours before arrival or leave. For the late arrival, the accommendation provided the key in a lock box. My wife has a disability problem and the only disadvantage was the bath/shower situation. The bath presented as a distinct problem in which I (husband) had to assist her over the side of the bath in order for her to shower. Had it been a walk in shower recess, I would have scored our stay 10 out of 10. Street noise. Temporary tram works. The other people that were miserable staying there that complained to keep it down when we saw people using the pool and the gym. Had to kill 2 fleas on one of the beds upon entering a bedroom. Rude and arrogant staff at the Skilled Stadium lost it for us - never again. Of course what was annoying was all the roadworks but it couldn't be avoided. bed was too sinky (too old) carpet needs updating noise from the street pool needs steps into it...had my elderly mother with me who would have loved a swim, but couldn't step down into the pool. No shower attached to 2nd bedroom. Emergency evacuation alarm was activated after midnight and could not be heard from main bedroom (we were alerted by family in 2nd bedroom closer to the door!!). Having to leave to return home.. I didn't like that we had to pay $5 each to use a pool towel as we have towels provided in the room and can always wash them clean. leaving. Nothing. nothing.. WiFi was a bit finicky. kept dropping out when first connecting. not much - leaving. Cleanliness could be improved upon. the rain. 1. Jest blanket , cold at night. 2. Wifi is not free. 3. Location is just so so. 4. Wash powder is little, not enough. The roadworks were annnoying and must be frustrating for the businesses . Makes it hard to get in and out . Apart from that - everything fine !. Would be great if they can offer clean towels(daily) and dish detergent. I am quite surprise that I have to clear the trash ourselves daily and upon checkout. The only thing is quilt's color is grey, not looks so clean!. Very poor television reception at times. On occassions the channels would "drop out" completely. Through no fault of theirs,some of the kitchen cooking utensils were poor, but when I stated this, they recorded it to fix it. Pretty minor & well handled. Nothing. Current access issues due to Gold Coast tramway roadworks. We need to clean before we left the room. The dust n over cleanliness of the apartment. I had a slight pimple breakout n terrible block nose / sinus every morning from the dust in the apartment. N the apartment could be slightly cleaner such as the balcony. Nothing to report. The washing machine should have been better, but for a couple of times to use was OK. The cleaning stuff was also few. nothing thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
