  The theme of Refúgio is rustic and tasteful. I love this area of Rio and was pleased to learn that a budget-friendly, clean, comfortable and modern hostel has opened here! The staff are simply fantastic and made every possible effort for all the guests during my stay. The Flamengo area is a great in Rio de Janeiro to stay, where you can stay at a great hotel, but not pay the price as you would in Copacabana or Ipanema.   Hotel Rondonia is a nice place to stay. We had 4 quite rooms (on level 8). Breakfast is very good....and so is the location. - Service was good, breakfast had nice choices, room got cleaned everyday.

  I like the location - Flamengo is a good area with lots of restaurants and shops and there is the beach close by. The hotel is comfortable and has a decent restaurant and it is easy to get taxis as there is a local rank.   This was the most unique and sexy hotel I've stayed at. A delicious breakfast was delivered to our room every morning and the staff was extrememly helpful. But the best part about the room was the mirrors above the bed and the huge jetted spa with multi colored lights and once again a huge mirror above it!

  We spent three nights at the R&C Santa Teresa and were very happy with our choice for romantic vacation. The room was very nice and very clean. The design of hotel is awesome. The staff is very friendly and this is valid for everybody (security, front desk, waiters, room service etc). The area itself is interesting and from what I gather has some cool drinking holes and restaurants. One could start and finish a book in peace here, yet 'feel Brazilian', and not feel they need to join the flock of tourists seeing the usuals in Rio. I enjoyed spending time at the bar, restaurant and spa - perfect for a day of indulgence!
