The staff here are very friendly and very informative. they gave us a lot of information about where to go and what to eat around here. the stay was enjoyable. We were able to meet with people all around the world who came to san francisco for visit. over all, nice stay. very clean. Location is great, overall quality is good. we lived in a dorm room with different people. if you are not a dorm person, i would suggest to rent your own room. the door of our bath room were broken and later, the nob of the shower disappeared, but we just needed to call the staff and they fixed it right away.all reviews »
the man, receptionist, is not enthusiastic to answer questions and has a bad attitude. the beds are not quite comfortable. It would be better to have a free locker in the room. Currently the locker is provided, but extra money is required to purchase a lock...

Driving Directions:
From either Oakland Airport or San Francisco International Airport, take the BART train to the Powell Street station. The BART station is located in the interntaional terminal at San Francisco International Airport. From Oakland Airport you will need to take the AirBART bus (USD 2) to the Colesium BART station. Take BART train to Powell Street Station (USD 3.35 from Oakland Colesium station, USD 5.15 from San Francisco Airport). Exit Powell station at Cable Car turnaround, follow directions above from Amtrak.
From highway 5 North: Take highway 580 W to highway 80 W. Take 80 W over Bay Bridge (USD 3) to 5th St. exit. Stay left on exit ramp, stay in lanes for Harrison St. (Slight left from exit ramp.) Go one block on Harrison, turn right onto 6th St. Follow 6th across Market Street. Street will curve to left and will become Taylor St. Proceed to 749 Taylor Street, Amsterdam will be on your left.
From highway 5 South: Take highway 505 South to highway 80 west, follow above directions.
From US-101 North: Take highway 280 North to Port of SF exit. Take 6th St. ramp. 6th Street becomes Taylor. Proceed to 749 Taylor Street, Amsterdam will be on your left.
From US-101 South: Take highway 101 across the Golden Gate Bridge (USD 5). 101 becomes Lombard Street, take to Van Ness Ave. Turn right onto Van Ness Ave. and continue several blocks to Post St. Turn left onto Post St., follow to Taylor St. Turn left onto Taylor and follow above directions.
