A convenint location for staying overnight near jfk Airport. After landing, we took the Air Train to Federal Circle where they have phones which are connected to the various nearby hotels. After calling, we waited 20 minutes for the free shuttle to arrive to take us to the hotel. The room was clean, modern and spacious, with a good shower. The receptionist was friendly. A good value for jfk Aiport. I would recommend the Garden Inn and Suites.
all reviews » Shuttle - arrived within ten minutes of my call from the courtesy phone at JFK Fed. Circle - great as I was travelling alone and worried about waiting around at 11pm. Shuttle dropped off at requested terminal in the morning. Receiption staff very polite and efficient. Room was quiet and clean, and continental breakfast provided from 4am which was great. All in all a great place to stay close to the airport -- would highly recommend. The staff was the best!! Very helpfull and polite! We didnt know how to get to the subway station to the city so a staff member acompanied us all the way!! The rooms are good and clean, bed is comfortable, and you have breakfast included. The hotel has its free shuttle service which drives you to and from JFK and the airtrain that connects all the terminals and the closest metro station. Good organization!. The location was great - very near to JFK airport but it was quiet and my sleep wasn't disturbed at all by aircraft noise. The staff were lovely and helpful. It was all just as I wanted after a transatlantic flight. It was great to be able to get a shuttle bus and the guy on board was really welcoming and helpful as was the guy who took me back to the airport in the morning. I really liked the nice treatment that the front desk people gave to me. I had a late check-in because my flight delayed, so I sent an email to the hotel regarding the shuttle service. They answered my email so fast saying that no problem. Also they asked me to call them as soon as I arrive at the airport JFK that they will send a driver to pick me up. So nice this attitude!. This is an ex Sheraton Hotel in new clothing. It was excellent. Great staff, great breakfast included, very close to the airport jfk easy shuttle. A great safe park next to the hotel -even a cricket pitch within 500 metres (suburb Jamaica). We overlooked the freeways at the back but nice and quiet. Decor is outstanding. 1. Ms. Yannek at the reception was extremely helpful in giving us the route to Manhattan and saving us money ($10 for 2 days Vs $30) 2. Coffee packets in the room were very nice 3. Breakfast was great - 'make our own waffle' idea is great. Need one more waffle maker though. Great service in the restaurant. Excellent and quick shuttle service even though I arrived at JFK after midnight. The shuttle back the next morning was equally prompt and the driver very helpful. Friendly front of house staff even at that hour. Excellent coffee in room. Comfortable bed. Great place to stop over en route. Due to cancelling my flight from jfk, I had to find a place to stay overnight, somewhere close to the airport. Hotel is very comfortable, well equipped and clean! Great value for money I paid! It's far from Times Square, but is really close to the JFK. You can go to the city by subway, from the hotel taken the shuttle it's 45-50 minutes. It's a good hotel. A good variant for a night stopover, and not convenient for longer stays because all sightseeings are located far away, and no metro is nearby. No doubt it is a no frills hotel. The driver did, however, drop all passengers off at their plane's terminals which saved the time of going on the Air Train. Plan ahead and allow yourself plenty of time!. Nothing to dislike - all very good. No mini bar in room. And the A/C was set too cold in the hotel. It smelled a wee bit of its previous policy on smoking. the room didn't smell but the hotel in general had a bit of an old smoker's smell. However, it was clean. The breakfast was very basic and was all about sweet carbohydrates which wasn't good. Our room was quite small for 2 people with luggage. -A small sacrifice for all the other good things. 1. No porter to help with baggage. 2. No check-in until 3 PM - waiting there is a waste of the full day. It would be better to check-in and give the room after 3 PM - then we can dump our luggage and go out. Breakfast room is closed in without air underground and food was pretty boring. Plastic cutlery etc pretty dismal. As I was told when I called the reception, shuttle bus was suppose to come in 5-15mins. I was waiting for almost an hour!! Nothing new when you read previous reviews. So if you are taking shuttle, be prepared to wait! Thats the only downside.. I did not like the fact that the shower only stayed hot. It was very unpleasant to use steaming hot water to shower. Specifically, I cannot say that this was terrible. Nonetheless, I could say that I wish I encountered a more diverse breakfast. Hot water in the shower was running out so quick.,well for me this is not a complaint. I like the hotel and will stay there again. The heat in the room was not working correctly and the room was very chilly. I was expecting a free shuttle bus and ending up having to pay $20 for a taxi as it took so long to get through immigration. A little cold in the room in November. Noisy air conditioner and noise from the street. Certain parts could be updated. Ie some fixtures, hallway walls. n/a. When I don't like is the location I feel like it be in a better place but other than that it's a great hotel in the became one of my favorite hotels this is mine second time in the hotel guess I will recommend it to people because I love the way they treat you. I didn`t like the broken shower tap. I tried many times to combine the warm with the cold water.But the tap turned only to hot very hot water. I called the operator and them sent me someone that repaired it. But anyway its embarassed for people arriving and have to deal with it. Although if this person is a woman kind of aged one, alone likes me. No restaurant nearby , i had to walk approximately 3km to buy some food at burger king and seven eleven!!. The lobby and public hallways could use some sprucing up. They are looking a bit tired and not as clean as they could be. The mattress was too soft, it needed replacement, I think it is too old. I didn't have a flat screen tv in my room ;(. Small things like the bedside lamps did not work, one did not have a bulb. Vendign machine was not working. Would be nice if breakfast started earlier or something was provided for early travellers. Bus from airport seemed to go missing, had to get a lift from a different hotel. Lift pings and hallway noise very audible from inside room. No restaurant or bar (apparently coming soon). Beware of similarly named hotels. Your greeting and assistance was not up to par! Though staff was knowledgeable, they seemed preoccupied and stressed. Shuttle was very late one evening. The shuttle was full when they finally arrived. We were able to leave our luggage, but when I came to pick it up, just let me get the luggage and didn't check my slips. I could have taken anyone's luggage and that means anyone could have taken my luggage! Then nobody offered to helped take the luggage to the shuttle. No comments. Everything was good. Not much to do arround. The breakfast. No nearby shops or restaurant. for the price I paid for one night I would of expected the hotel to have an on site restaurant but this is not the case the bed linen was a small bit worn but it was still very clean. Would like menus in room of restaurants that will deliver food to the hotel. No parking lot, although street parking was adequate. Insufficient seating for breakfast. Not much space in room. Air conditioning in the hotel went out a few times (on 90+degree days) comfort of the bed was so so dead bug in the bathroom. Noisy heating system. on 2nd stay net curtain in room had a big hole in it, and 2nd guest was booked into my room in error. Only one toaster at breakfast. Long lines. Shuttle only every 30 min. Don't choose this hotel if you want to visit NYC, it takes over 1hour and costs 7.50 USD to go to Manhattan. No parking.
