  The desk staff was helpful and cheerful. We ended up with a private bath as well, which was really nice. The room was small and there wasn't anything fancy, but it was perfect for what we needed (a bed to sleep on and a place to shower in the morning). The building has seen a lot of wear but the room, linen and bathrooms were absolutely clean. The mattress was comfortably firm. The room was quiet. Temperature was comfortable. Window allowed natural light. Staff was friendly. Exceptional location.

  Great location, across the street from discounted parking and several subway lines. Spacious, extreemly spacious, breakfast area. Having a little extra space in your NYC trip is more important than new travelers realize; hotels at good prices are small, like most of the city.
