Our favorite aspect of the room was the bathroom with both a deep soaking tub and a lovely shower with hand held spray. This latter feature is often omitted in even many nicer hotels. Of course the marble and the overall design created a cheerful and homey environment. The bed was excellent and the mattress was friendly to our hypersensitive backs. The sound system was nice. Our room faced the back and so was extemely quiet for nyc. Of course, the staff was as pleasant as could be.

The shower was amazing and had great water pressure. The bed was deliciously comfortable. Even though our room overlooked Madison Avenue, it was very quiet. In short, it was wonderful!!. A perfect location near central park allows you to jog in the mornings and go for a stroll in the evenings. All the comfort of upper east side life with the Michelin restaurants, designer shops and art galleries, what can one ask more from life. Very convenient location: near Central Park ( hotel has its own bike) and the Met / Gugenheim. Near line 6 which cover Manhattan from North to South. Very comfortable room. Their concierge staff was more than helpful. Very very professional. Great location -- The Met is just a couple of blocks away -- and out-of-the- oven croissants just around the corner. The subway is very handy for accessing NYC. room is top of the art ( bathroom, fridge, bang olufson), good atmosphere, nice bar and restaurant, super gym. The Mark is perfect as is! The restaurant crowd at dinner invades the hotel lobby. pricey!. famous restaurant was actually quite disappointing. Front doorman trying to get us to take limos instead of cabs; mattresses were not good; location fair. Great hotel and location but the most expensive hotel I ever booked. bed too soft. Nothing. Nothing. room decoration. There were literally no flaws in this hotel. Design of the chairs in the lobby. The bed was too soft with the shape of the previous guests on the mattress. It would be better if it is harder. My room looked tired and worn the carpet was stained which made the room look dirty. Room was cold, poorly lighted, and there was no place to sit and read. There needs to be more emphasis on comfort and less on high-tech gadgets.
