I have to start this review by saying thank you so much to Arturo and the entire staff at The Hotel Indigo!! My fiance was away working for our 11th anniversary so we didn't get to spend the day together... I wanted to make it special for him (since we are getting married this coming July 4!!) so I looked through tons and tons of hotels in the Chelsea area and finally found this amazing hotel. First of all, the price was great for a Friday night ($199 before tax) and it looked so cool in the pi.
all reviews » The room was well-appointed, clean and comfortable. Staff was very helpful and friendly in every experience I had with them. The location is fantastic - in the middle of the flower district, safe and walking distance to everything my group needed. Overall, I'm very happy with the stay there. - The staff was very friendly and helpful. We got to the hotel earlier than expected and they let us check in. - Very clean. Loved the hardwood floors. Did not have to worry about the "mystery" stain on the carpet. - Great location. Very hip hotel in a great location. Especially liked that it was in the flower district. So much fun to walk down the sidewalks crowded with flats of plants, palm trees, lilies and other houseplants. Staff - Natasha at reception was very friendly and helpful,very professional. It made our stay comfortable and pleasant in addition to excellent hotel location in flower district of New York. I loved the central NYC location. The front desk staff were great -really, really friendly and helpful. Our room was more spacious than I expected and very comfortable. Rooms were decent size by NYC standards, bed was comfortable, free wi-fi that worked pretty well. Room was very quiet, something that can be hard to get in this city. The hotel was easy to find. Nothing. Everything was awesome!!. A little small (but definitely average or slightly larger than most NYC hotels). There wasn't a door on the shower (just a half, vertical glass wall) which meant water got out a little bit (though not a lot, and not a huge inconvenience.). - The shower had no door, so the floor was all wet. The shower door is only a partial door and the floor by the toilet gets wet when you shower. Very small complaint!. Breakfast service was slow and food was only so-so. I wish I had gone to a neighborhood deli instead. Front desk staff was a bit snobby. Wish I had known their main restaurant/bar was closed for remodeling, their site should have said so, as I needed a hotel where I can meet with people. Lots of little problems with service, e.g., no hair dryer in room, took awhile to get a replacement or when I asked them to refresh the coffee, all they did was bring coffee but no clean cups or condiments. Just 2 examples out of several. I expect better service at a 4 star with a $300/night price tag. Pillow and bed were not theist comfortable. Water pressure for shower was weak. Weird design on shower stall letting water leak out on bathroom floor while shower is running. Room showed light wear (cracked sink, misbehaving electronics, slight rattle in bathroom ceiling) iPod dock did not work Tv did not change channel 3am fire alarm. European shower - meaning, no curtain. Stall has half panel of glass to contain some water, but the bathroom floor got wet during showers - and the shower floor was slippery - older travelers, be careful!. Rooms were very small, but very clean and comfortable. The room could be a little bit bigger but otherwise an excellent hotel. Nothing - well, they could have had a pool. nothing. impossible early check-in. Internet was terrible. I never got more than 1mbps, which made surfing/working similar to 1999. Slow elevator. If I had to list some: Bit noisy area in the morning (flower shops get ready); Room size as described however crammed for 4 people;. For some reason my room was only half cleaned on my second day. No new glasses, the bed was hardly made, furniture in weird places. Maybe I didn't tip the cleaners enough? That was all. Broken TV(remote didnt work); had to turn it on/off by unplugging from wall. Broken ipod player/alarm clock. Wouldnt connect to my iphone. No umbrellas at front desk during a hard rain. I had rto run a block to buy one at the local store getting drenched. A decent hotel, certainly a "4.5 star" hotel would have had them at the front desk for guests to use. Restaurant mediocre. - only net curtains, no way to blackout the room, so expect an early rise every day! - not much shopping or nightlife within walking distance - breakfast not included, at close to usd 300 per night that's riddiculous. But the other one was not that nice .and there was a night club realllllllyloud .u can hear from the 3rd floor. The cost was a bit high. I left the "do not disturb" sign on the door since I was coming back shortly after picking up something. The house keeping still went into the room and as I walked into the room to get my stuff, I noticed that the house keeping lady threw all the pillows on the floor while she was changing the sheets. I thought it was very unprofessional of her to do that, after all, my head and face is touching the pillow for the whole night, it's disgusting. Location sounds good, but sometime I felt not safe when I came back after a theatre or dinner after 11pm.
