We stayed at Four Points for 4 nights, once we landed in Newark Airport we caught the bus to Port Authority Bus Terminal (Newark Airport Express Bus), the price was $28 each return, or $16 each way. The Four Points hotel is located right next to the bus station (the bus stops on 42nd St – but at the back of the bus station is 40th St where the hotel is), the bus pickup point back to the airport is on 41st St. Our room wasn’t ready when we checked in, but they let us leave all our cases and bags.
all reviews » The staff was amazing especially Kathia and Mohammed. Kathia was the young lady that checked us in and she was very helpful as well as kind and considerate. Mohammed was one of the gentlemen in the lobby. He stored our luggage so we could go ahead and go site-seeing while we waited on our room. When the room was ready Kathia was very quick to finish the paperwork and get us checked in. Instead of waiting for our luggage, Mohammed told us to go on up to the room and he would bring it up for us. . We moved to this hotel from a lesser one farther downtown and found this to be superb and for the same price. I didn't want my memories of New York to include staying in an inferior hotel. All staff went out of their way to be helpful, especially Ali who sent up the proper plug for my computer very early in the morning.to friends. Location perfect, walking distance to the subway, sights, Times Square and Broadway. Will definitely recommend it to friends and stay again. Reserved three days before arrival for a three-day stay; when we needed to drop the first night, it was 30 minutes past Sheraton's 3-days-in-advance-or-you-pay-for-the-first- night deadline. We were still planning to stay the 2nd and 3rd nights. But neither Sheraton nor letsbookhotel.com would budge -- and each hid behind the other's supposed policies and rules. We liked the hotel, the location and the staff. But we didn't like having a very expensive two-day stay. We love the location. Very easy to get around Times Square walking distance. Also the Hotel is next to the Port Authorities Terminal, which was of great advantange for moving around Manhattan. The Hotel is very clean which is a must for my family. Room service available, wifii, courteous staff. They were helpful on giving directions so that we moved around on our own. My kids enjoy the New York experience very much. Good mid-town location in Manhattan. Close to Penn Station, Madison Square Garden (MSG), Times Square and the Empire State Building. Close to 42st/Times Square subway. Clean modern rooms with good customer service. Good room service breakfast and free bottled water in the room. Free and fast wifi. Many places to eat nearby. The staff was very friendly and always greeted us with a smile and "hello" or "welcome back". They were also very helpful with which subways to take to certain locations. The hotel is very close to Times Square and the Subway. Also, close walking distances to most major sight seeing places in Manhattan. Awesome stay!!!. everything! the hotel was in a great location, so close to times square, but not too close that its too noisy. The staff were exceptional, I arrived early o drop off my luggage and I was told my room was ready to check in then, and they allowed me to check out later, for no extra cost. the staff were really friendly, polite and helpfull; nothing was too much trouble. Views of the city from the rooms were excellent. Rooms were clean and well presented. The location was really convenient for the theatre district and, with the subway close by, the rest of the city too. The location is very good. Just opposite the bus terminal which could take buses easily to any other city. It's also near the theater district and very convenient to enjoy the Broadway shows by walk. There are also 10 subway lines near the hotel. the staff very helpful. the bedroom was comfortable. and cleaned very good each day. the room got warm through the night and when window was open the traffic noise could be heard. the air condition was a little loud but overal a fair size for a king room we both enjoyed our stay. I've been staying here on occasion for more than a year or two. While it seemed to have an awkward start the hotel has improved its staff, is cleaner than a year ago, and seems to have hit its stride. Very enjoyable and very reasonable hotel that i would recommend to anyone. We really liked the location. It's very close to Times Square and to all other shops which you might be interested in. The service was excellent and the staff were all very helpful and exude no signs of irritation on our inquiries and requests. The staff was very friendly & helpful. As I left my PP in the safe & checked out but the manager helped me get back my PP after 30mins of interviewing all HK staff who had cleaned the room after I checked out. This I appreciate. location was great , 2 blocks from cake boss , two blocks from broadway 10 blocks to central park and about a 15-20 min walk to the hudson river where we watched the fireworks for the 4th of July . Staff were really helpful and nice . The staff was excellent, they have customer service down, so friendly and welcoming. Rooms are small but really clean and cozy. Lobby smelled really good, free bottled water and cupcakes every day. I will stay here again, no doubt. I have absolutely no negatives to say on this hotel, it was perfect location and lovely staff through out. When they checked my i'd @ check in & realized it was my birthday they gave us vouchers for breakfast our first morning. Very nice. We thoroughly enjoyed it. But we were warn about space. The price is high but that is normal for NYC, plus I booked the room late and it was high season (May). The rooms were a little small but we only needed a place to sleep. We were constantly on the move outside the hotel all over nyc. Not really a big deal. I would stay here again!!. The cost is a bit expensive in May. just the door banging outside our room. when staff entered or left. i did mention it to the desk staff, and the remainder of our stay the noise decreased. unfortuatedly it was the fire escape door so it has to be closed. The rate is not budget friendly. But of course, we understand because it's within the vicinity of Times Square. As soon as I opened up the menu ,there was a bug crawling acrossed it , found another bug in the bathroom later on , got bite marks on my feet. pretty sure it was from something in the carpet ,.and I want to stress the bite makrs were only on my feet. and the kids didn't have any . but they didn't sit at the chair using the computer as I did . Walking up 40th street with the adult store on our way to Times Square was a little uncomfortable at times. There was a little bit of noise from the traffic outside but I am a light sleeper. View from our window was of an office block. Room was small for 3 people with luggage. Only good words. Nothing. passing strip club down the street en route between Times Square and the hotel. Best bet: cross street in front of hotel and walk on other side of street. N/A. We had no complaints. Pricey for small room and basic amenities. Breakfast should be included. Sky Bar (next door) sounded great, but was of course not accessible for children. Location. Hotel is not as close to Times Square as I hoped. Area a little junky. Otherwise hotel and staff make up for this issue. we needed a crib for a 1 year old, but as we were staying in a double room could not get one as there was not enough room. so baby had to sleep on a bed we made out of the comforter from the bed. worked out OK. Dining wasn't great. I wish there had been a fridge. The lighting in the bathroom was poor and the water was slow to drain from the sink. Neighbourhood for 1/2 block from hotel to 8th was a bit dicey, but we didn't have any trouble whatsoever. The rooftop lounge was a bit overstated. It was actually in the hotel next door, but guests of the Sheraton could access it, but only during specific hours. Break fast - at buffet could be better. The sounds of city from the 11th floor were the only thing I would change. The cleaning carts left in the hallway, when there are no cleaning staff around as they take up a lot of room. Only thing i can complain about was the shower was incredibly small and leaked every time we used it. There was a foul smell coming from the drains, I think it was just New York in the summer because it seemed to be all over the city. There was an unprepared man working at the front desk when I was checking out. He made a total mess with my payment. He charged me in a credit card that I had clearly stated I didn't wanted to use for the payment, and he said there was nothing he could do about it. The room was very small. Our room attendant dumped our pijamas over the bed with CERO thoughtfulness the first 2 days so we decided not to bother her and keep them in a drawer. We saw her once and indeed was a bit rude when asked for a few stuff. The rest of the staff though was very polite and helpfull.
