This hotel was quiet and clean the room was a good quality as was the restaurant we would have liked a water view but got one on the side where we could see a bit of water but no sun just plenty of traffic but we did find the double glazing was efficient so not too noisey. Great location, that enables access to the much busier and buzzy Venice Beach within a fairly short walk. Friendly and efficient staff. Hotel incorporates a very good restaurant. We paid the extra for a Marina facing room and were glad we did.

Everything- location on Mothers beach and marina, 2/3 minutes from The Cheesecake Factory restaurant, relaxing atmosphere. Pleasant walking areas around marina/beach, Happy hour prices, and general prices. Brilliant location- room with view of marina recommended- great to hire bikes (from hotel) and cycle along Venice beach / Santa Monica etc. Hotel food good- enjoyed happy hour cocktails and snacks. situation by the lagoon and walking distance to beach. friendly staff with time to deal with questions. clean rooms with controlled a/c. restaurant open all hours with good food. The hotel was very well presented and the staff were very helpful. The bar area was lively and the restaurant food and service was excellent. Perfect location. Coming from England in the winter living in a country area we would have loved to have been able to look out on to the water with some sun coming into our room but alas in spite of our asking we did not get what would have made our trip perfect. Pool area very small otherwise great stay. Service at breakfast was very poor. From the point of arriving for breakfast and receiving our meal was 50 minutes. Also housekeeping was too early. Not happy with being charged for the car park, $16 a day. But all this would not stop us returning for another stay. Restaurant/bar staff all seemed very stressed/ rushed which didn't make for a very relaxing evening. Toilet blocked and bathroom taps a bit dodgy. Exercise room very small. Nothing. Only staying one night!. Pool area was not kept clean. Had to request towels twice as they weren't there in the morning. Front desk staff too hurried and unwilling to take time to answer questions. Front desk had little information to provide when asked for maps etc. of the area. Bit pricey. self parking $16. Enjoyed it all. it would be nice to have covered parking. June gloom. Liked it all. Bathroom doors. Not a good value for money. Had parking lot for which you had to pay to self park or pay more to valet. On site restaurant although pretty, was way overpriced. Pool area small and closed in. Much preferred the hi Express we came from in desert. Fairly disappointed. Our room refrigerator didn't work, housekeeping came knocking on our door at 8am. It is a little out of the way of the main beaches and we discovered Marina del Ray is often cloudy as it was for our whole stay. Guests are not really welcomed in the bar. This is very much for 'locals' who get an extra 10% off food and drinks. Many of them are barflys hogging the bars at Happy Hour and the evening. Pool is very small. Noisy air con and fridge in room Hotel is under staffed or staff are always hurried Ordered drinks in main bar that never arrived, after 15 mins wait gave up!!. I don't think it was worth the money they charged for a room. For $100 more I could have stayed at the Ritz Carlton and said wow, when I walked in. I walked in the lobby at the Jamaica Bay in and felt as if I was at a cheap hotel. I paid for a city view but did not get one.
