  This is my second stay at the Aurora (first was August 2012). Still great value, very nice staff, excellent breakfast, and nice rooms. As a result of Ukrainian policy I think public area smoking has decreased and thus the lobby is not quite as filled with the stench of cigarette smoke so that is good.   I loved the hotel. Actually I felt in love with the City Club Hotel. Very cool, fresh and clean. I am not sure when the hotel was built exactly but it looked very new to me. Rooms are superior.   Extremely friendly staff. Girls on the front desk spoke English and it was no problem checking in at midnight. The concierge was very helpful and spoke a number of languages. Hotel is central and within walking distance to many places. There is a Metro station just around the corner for longer trips or the staff can call a taxi. We traveled to Kiev, Kharkov, and Odessa and this was the best accommodations that we had the entire trip. The cost was reasonable and compared to the other places, a very good value.
