I have stayed there many times, starting in the mid 1970'S. It became a luxury hotel after that, and this is the first time I stayed in the more modern era. In general, I liked everything, but especially the staff. I feel they gave outstanding service. I arrived without a wallet and no money to pay the cab. The hotel staff graciously paid the cab and put it on my bill, even though I had not yet registered. (My wallet had been temporarily lost.).

I was traveling with my daughter visiting another child that is taking a gap year and is in the Oxford Tutorial College. she was able to get to us and we got around the town wonderfully. The staff were all helpful and informative. The environment was cozy and warm which was greatly appreciated because the weather was chilly and wet. Would definitely recommend to others. The hotel is lovely and charming. The room we stayed in was gracious, beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. Difficult to get out of the wonderful bed in the morning! The staff are very helpful and knowledgable. The restaurant on site is one of the loveliest garden restaurants I have ever been in. This is the perfect place to stay in Oxford. Very nice room with courtyard view. Staff was so helpful, especially Voytek. Close to rail station & town--walking distance. Loved Oxford & Old Parsonage. Would stay there again. They have bikes at Old Parsonage for guest use. This hotel was booked because of pictures on the website: such as the old door and hinges, flanked by 2 potted shrubs. Also photos of the room, restaurant and the write up for Oxford. Great staff - especially the ladies who did the turn-down service and reception - they were all very polite and helpful. Loved the room - quiet and calm, no noise from outside. The professional and extremely personable staff, the location and the most delightful environs were all exemplary. our stay at the Old Parsonage was memorable and so enjoyable. Staff was professional and their treatment of us was superb. The hotel location was perfect, providing easy access to my wife's college and to the central Oxford business area. loved the location, walking distance to the centre of Oxford. The service and attitude of the staff was amazing. The service was superb with major efforts made to ensure our extended family of four adults and an infant had rooms close together and infant catered for. Everything was excellent. Beautiful frontage to sit out. Bed was very comfortable and the facilities in the room ie tea making tv etc were very comprehensive and the little patio surrounded by jasmine was Devine . All in all a lovely place to stay. Short walk to Oxford but plenty to see on the way. Did not eat in the hotel as exploring Oxford. Did have Afternoon Tea in their sister hotel Old Bank which was Devine and also did the complimentary walking tour around Oxford that I would . Restaurant - good menu choices - good quality. The room had everything I needed. Quaint setting, nicely furnished, staff is friendly and helpful. The price is a bit high, but it just meant a shorter stay for me. This is where I will stay when I come to Oxford. When I emailed to confirm that the room would have an additional bed for our two children the staff emailed back that they didn't have any record of this request. We ended up paying nearly 100 pounds more than expected for a room to accommodate our children. Our other reservations on this trip through letsbookhotel.com worked just fine. If traveling with children this is a great location just make sure you double check the room and pricing before making your decision. Breakfast service. Not a thing. it was all good!. Having to walk through the dining room to access room. the stairs. bathroom: tube had no mat, and was both slippery, and a bit of a step down to the floor outside: dangerous, especially to older people. The only problem was that we had booked a twin room, was given a double, but the problem was corrected within a very short time. Minor point. Even though the rooms were very good they were a little on the small size. On arrival the receptionist was very good but after that the other staff were quite aloof and not at all helpful. Non functioning WiFi throughout my 1 night stay i.e. 14 hours without service. Finding a free parking bay is a nightmare, despite the hotel advertising "on-site parking" for guests. Unfortunately many free parking bays get occupied by visitors to the hotel's restaurant. In addition, the fire alarm went off at 5am!!!!. Rooms are small, the stairway up to the first floor is impossibly cramped. Though I enjoyed the experience, I think it is overpriced for what you get.
