We had travelled to Newcastle to visit some friends last minute and hotel selection was limited. I noticed Hotel Indigo had good ratings and reviews and decided to take a look, it looked amazing if not a little above my budget. I booked us into a Executive double room for Saturday night, We was not disappointed, the Hotel was immaculate, the staff were super friendly and very attentive to our needs, the room was excellent, very comfy and full of modern conveniences, amazing showers! Very nice t.
all reviews » Hotel was amazing from checking in to booking out. Interior design was 5* in our opinion. Modern contemporary and extremely comfortable. Bedrooms were fabulous, from decor to complimentary refreshments, bathrobes right down tho the Aveda products in the bathrooms. Cocktails are a definite must, as is food, especially breakfasts which we enjoyed in bed. Last but definitely not least .... The Staff... 5*++++++++ could not do enough for us and nothing was ever any trouble they definitely were the . I am writing this review on behalf of my daughter as I made the booking for a one night stay whilst she and a friend went to Newcastle for a birthday treat to see Girls Aloud. Sarah thought the hotel was fabulous & great for location. From my point of view I cannot fault the staff who handled the booking, Gemma in particular who helped me plan the suprises for Sarah, balloons and champagne in her room, cocktails on arrival.Sarah found Gemma to be a really pleasant person who helped make her. Firstly we were welcomed right from the moment we entered the hotel by Elisha, wow she got us checked in straight away even though we were early. We could not fault the hotel nor the staff they were so polite, welcoming, nothing was a bother to me they were perfection personified!!!!! Elisha deserves to be management the way she ran the reception i will definitely be back and have already recommended the hotel to all my family & friends. I've stayed in many a hotel, but this was just like. The staff at this hotel are what make it such a pleasure to visit. Nothing is too much trouble from the minute you walk in the door. The rooms are clean and modern and have everything you could need for a pleasant stay. The complimentary mini bar is a real plus as well. I was also really impressed with the breakfast and at £12 a head thought it was well worth the money compared to what I have paid elsewhere. The location is superb for anyone enjoying a city break in Newcastle and is only a ver. The hotel was modern & clean, with friendly & helpful staff. The beds were very comfortable & of a good size. Nicely designed & reasonably priced for one night. Our purpose was for shopping, so a brilliant location too. I visited without the children, but they would have been fine here too. Although there seemed to be a lot of people there, it was quiet during the night, with no noise heard from local pubs/bars. the hotel is done in different color of each floor. Indigo, the blue, is the main color. bed was very comfortable, stuff were very very friendly. There is a parking lot to the hotel.walking distance to the river. to the SAGE. The wonder building by Foster. Ihappened to forget my coat in the hotel. They were so good and sent it to me to my last place on this tour. it arrived safely. I was so thankful. Absolutely everything the staff are amazing, the hotel has a fantastic location and the restaurant lives up to the marco standard well worth the visit.We went for our anniversary and were greeted by chocolates and a card from all the staff we will definitely be returning.If you want a fantastic hotel in Newcastle look no further because I dont honestly think you will beat this one!. Good size TV with lots of channels. Restaurant nice, food very rich so knocked me ill (but still very tasty) Would recommend making reservation. The hotel is located perfectly between the shopping areas in old town and the train station. Everything is within walking distance. It was a bit of walk to reach the river, but a nice walk none the less. The free (included) minibar was a nice add on and the Internet Speed was also good. The location allows you to explore Newcastle on foot so you don't need a car for a city break. We had one amusing thing happen on the Saturday night when the people in the next room got frisky and there bed was hitting the wall so hard our bed was moving too! It may be better to have thicker walls or move the beds slightly away from the walls?. Everything about my stay was great. Front of house staff were more than helpful. Its a new hotel in the very best location with a car park and the best restaurant in Newcastle Barry and Barbara Yarm. The hotel staff were courtious, it is very centrally located and the room was very good. I also liked the fact the mini bar (which did not contain alcohol) was complementary and breakfast in bed did not cost any extras. They are simple things but creates a good impression. Location was ideal as I didn't have a car, very handy for the train station and central, walked to all the places I wanted to visit with no problem at all. The only cheeky issue I have is been charged for parking when you spend above average prices. Everything was perfect!!!!. nothing at all. That we were only staying one night!. Nothing. None. i think if the hotel had a spa or pool it would top the hotel off to a tee. but nothing else... View not so great (but cant really complain!). nothing. Only niggle (which is the same for almost every hotel I ever stay in) the lighting in the bathroom was not great... Please can hotel designers remember that 50% of their cliental are women and need equal lighting to the sides of the mirrors for makeup application (not down lighting... Too many shadows) that's all though, otherwise excellent!. Could be a bit noisy in the corridor at night, but that is generally expected in Newcastle city centre on a Fri/Sat night. Some of the areas close to the hotel were a bit run down. There were corners with youths hanging around. But that's not the hotels fault. The bar food was OK but not great. Could not fault anything simply perfect in every way - well done. I had to wait to be seated for breakfast in the restaurant and at £12 odd it was a little pricey for what it was. The housekeeping closet being next to my room. It meant that occasionally there was noise on an evening. I know the staff have a job to do but when I just wanted to relax after a day out it was a little disturbing, not always, just some nights. Would ask to move if I found myself in the same situation again, especially if staying any length of time. Otherwise, an excellent hotel and would definitely use them again. No shower cap if I was being picky. Expensive breakfast. I'd love to know if it's worth it. Breakfast layout a bit confusing --ie-- either buffet or table service not 100% clear at first, however nothing wrong with meal or staff service !. What couldn't you like about this hotel?. Cleanliness in the restaurant. The background music in the restaurant/bar area on Friday evening! Perhaps we are a little old!!. Could not fault anything - there was nothing that we did not like during out stay. I have nothing negative to say about this hotel. Carpet in the Bar was modern but greys and whites are showing stains and it spoils a good hotel. Wine price in the bar was high. Did not see any promotion offers that would earn more for the hotel and give good value to guests. I had read from reviews that a bottle of wine and lager were included in the mini bar but there were only soft drinks. I was a little disappointed even though it was still nice to get the soft drinks and snacks included in the room price. Just a little disappointed with cooked breakfast just a little over done but the dining room service was great. nothing to report. Nothing I can identify. nothing ... A few noisy doors on our floor during the night but it was a Friday and we had gone to bed fairly early. At breakfast it was difficult to see some of the trays on the pass as they were so high up. Nothing. Couldn't find any faults. stay was over to soon. Better coffee should be provided, preferably ground coffee in the room with fresh milk Toilet paper should have been better quality. Free internet did not work in the room on the fourth floor until I was checking out. It only functioned in public spaces which was inconvenient.
