The hotel staff were highly accommodating, very knowledgeable and most friendly. This can be substantiated by one of the team replacing a broken kettle in our hotel room at 2.30am! Hotel sited in an excellent location within a few minutes walk of the train station. Modern, clean and pleasant surroundings. The hotel was very central, staff were friendly, David Metcaffe was lovely it was my birthday and they done my room up with ballooons and banners, room was compact but very clean, would recommend this hotel and would definately go back overall I was very impressed.all reviews »
very easy to find,car park right next door to hotel.5 min walk to metro arena,staff all very polite and friendly no problems.would recommend this hotel to everybody it was excellent. We wanted to change rooms as we were given a disabled room first, staff were very obliging and found us another room, they were busy that particular evening too.I was there on my hen night and the staff were wonderful. very cheerful and made the whole stay very very welcoming for us. Not having to be out early, we thoroughly enjoyed the long lazy breakfast, sitting reading papers at our leisure. It was close to the two reasons we went to Newcastle. No fault of the hotels but we were woken on several occassions throughout the night by people banging on out room door, falling into the door and also somebody trying to get into the room - this was due to large groups of people staying at the hotel. The breakfast. The price of drink was alot more expensive than the bars and it got moreexpensive after midnight. No english cooked breakfast. I need my fry up when I go away especially after a night on the town! Don't do all this continental stuff, give me bacon, eggs and black pudding. Hotel was difficult to find as large bus blocked the signage, but verycentral to the city and train station. Although the Hotel has not got it's own parking facilities, surely some sort of discount could be arranged for people stopping at the hotel. It was very noisy throughout the night as it is clearly popular with large groups of party goers because of its city centre location. Would have prefered English breakfast instead of Continental.No restaurant. Like all these newer chain hotels a little lacking in soul and personality. Internet access is not free. The only hotel on a 3 week trip in 9 cities that was not ready for me early (they did store my luggage quite happily though).The hotel is on a corner of a busy road so there was quite a bit of traffic noise. The price of the drinks in your bar.
