I liked the relaxed, friendly atmosphere of a country house style hotel. For a woman travelling alone I liked the security of no long corridors and felt secure. My room was really fantastic and had many free toiletries and the hospitality tray was well stocked. The hotel itself is full of interesting period prints and pictures and I was informed it was once the home of the Mayor of Eccles.
all reviews » My room was very spacious and had all the facilities I would expect. Breakfast was excellent, wide choice of menu. Room I stayed in had a digital TV with many channels which I didn't expect to have. Hotel had a nice atmosphere and character. Very clean and tidy throughout. Rate and location were factors in deciding. Attention to detail has slipped regarding the replenishment of towels and toliet paper, for example.beds in double bed rooms too small to fit two adults. For a double room storage space was inadequate - one small full length cupboard (room 7). Poor off road parking. access because of number of locks and door codes. Service level, response of staff to questions, bathroom,... The hotel seems to have a policy of not having heating until 17.00 (and goes off at 23.00). My roon was cold and no amount of requesting got me any heat before the 17.00 deadline; all I was offered was another room with less window area and the suggestion to use more blankets if cold in the night. At £85 per night this is not on!.
