The location was very convenient for an early appointment at the local hospital with a further ban on driving for 24 hours.That was the reason for booking into the Belfray Country Inn.First impressions at receptions were very favourable and this was continued throughout my stay.The bedroom was faultless with excellent facilities especially a very very comfortable bed. Dinner was very enjoyable and a lovely presentation from an excellent menu as was breakfast The decor was a very pleasing them.
all reviews » The Belfray was in a perfect location just outside Derry. The hotel had recently been refurbished and everything was spotless. The room was ideal with a very comfortable bed. We ate in the Bistro and the meal was superb. The staff at the Hotel were helpful and very proud of the Hotel and we were shown round the Ballroom and it's beautiful views over the countryside. Relaxed contryside location ; luxury beddings ,towels & decor.Special touches include shower caps ; face cloths & toiletries. large comfy beds but pillows a bit flat. Restaurant has good selection &excellent food. Definite gems & would. Our stay meant so much to me as we had come home as a family for my mothers funeral. As it happened the Belfrey was originally a family home for some of my relatives!! The staff were all very courteous, helpful and friendly and the food very enjoyable. Service was excellent with a table kept for me in the restaurant even though I had not booked. Room was very comfortable with the most comfy bed I have slept in, in years. Food was great. Incredible good value - I would have paid a lot more. Genuine home from home. Outstanding friendliness & attention to detail. Food, accommodation & service all first class. Owner management personally went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Stayed as we were attending a 50 th birthday meal party .food was lovely .Breakfast was a little bit disappointing no fresh fruit breakfast lukewarm .other than that everything else fine. You had a one on one experience with all staff, so friendly, the belfray is a beautiful place to stay, rooms clean and modern feel we both realy enjoyed it and would stay again!. The personal touches which were preformed for the wedding made it very personal to the day and to the guests.. Thankyou Belfry......( not just another day at a wedding ). Quiet ,clean room.Staff did a great job of providing a fragrant free room as per our request due to chemical sensitivities which cause asthma in my case. The reception and restaurant staff were so helpful and friendly. The surrounding area had nice views and the overall comfort and food was top quality. From the outset I was greeted by friendly staff. The room was super , the bed so comfortable, the restaurant food and service excellent. Beds were so comfy we decided to stay TWO nights!! Friendly staff, clean rooms, great restaurant! Cant think of anything only that synthetic cream was used on the pavlova. ( sorry but I dont like it). I would have like an area to sit at the bar rather than a table that was already set for eating. Perhaps a few chairs / bar stools. Nothing. Nothing!. Nothing... I thought The Belfray Country Inn was outstanding. Nothing. Room a bit on the small side for the four of us. The location is 5-10 minutes outside Derry. nothing. the heating was too high even when the room radiator was turned down. breakfast coffee awful. Nothing. Shower (pressure and spray) Was not informed of works being carried out. Lack of separate bar area to sit outside of the restaurant. our room was very cold. nothing. Nothing. Breakfast did not start until 07.30, but the staff did organise coffee and toast and were very helpful. Location. Awful coffee - no hotel I've been to in Ireland serves a decent coffee. Breakfast was cheap and nasty. Noticeably out of place given the level service and the environment it was served in. The price was also massively inflated due to the One Big Weekend event in Derry that happened over the weekend we stayed. Whilst I understand the reasoning behind this, it none the less was a bit annoying. did not like dark entrance; location and small bathroom with a very stiff door!. No proper tv channels Bath panel hanging off No mini bar Breakfast very limited. Was under construction Shower did not work Hotel did not correct even after being informed. Leaking toilet Messed up dinner reservation.
