Excellent shower, bed was comfy, clean fresh towels brought to us daily, breakfast was simply but pleasant. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location was excellent couldn't fault, nice Thai restaurant down the end of the street across from a nice local friendly pub. Before booking and reading the reviews I was kind of put off but we booked anyway and I'm glad we didn't listen to the bad reviews as this is a lovely, cheap and comfortable b&B. Would defiantly come back.
all reviews » We had a lovely warm welcome on arrival, our room was clean, warm and well equipped for our stay, its about 5 min walk from the bus, train and tube station. There's a friendly pub on route called the greyhound from the tube to the hotel which was nice to pop into for a night cap after a busy day of touring London. Located close to Victoria coach and train station (about 7 minutes walk). Reception staff was friendly and cooperative. I requested for tickets to be delivered to the hotel and the reception staff contacted me by phone as I requested to inform me that my tickets had arrived. This was a last minute booking and I only stayed in this hotel for one night. The price, that was £32, was fair for the services and the room (with en suite bathroom). Staff were very helpful. They carried my luggage to the second floor since there is no lift. Room was clean, comfortable and there was plenty of hot water under good pressure. Room had flat screen TV in good working order as advertised. Decent choice for one night on business -- perhaps not suitable for couple/holiday. The staff was very polite. The room was clean and very comfortable (at least my single). There is everything you need for staying for several days.The location is very good-You need just 10-15 to get to Big Ben by walk. The friendliness of the staff who were always helpful. Location. We had problems with our reservation at the beginning which was quickly sorted out. The only problem with the our room was that the heating was unbareablely warm. Bathroom is incredibly tiny. No hooks to hang clothes in the bathroom either. Bedroom is small and breakfast is poor. I am not sure I would pay a penny more for this room. Lock on the door to the street appeared to be broken -- potentially dangerous. Washbasin sink plug could not be removed to let the water out after washing one's face! I brought this to staff attention when I left. Bad wifi connection (the higher you are the worse-at 3 floor was difficult to find connection). Hot water was not always available. The room was alittle cramped, but perfectly adequate, and it was great to have one's own shower & toilet, and internet access. none. Room and bathroom a bit small for three. The nets were filthy and torn. Sharp metal under the sink. Shower curtain too short so water goes everywhere. Bed a bit lumpy. It was a very very small room. Smallest of rooms you could ever imagine. No place to move once you put your luggage. WIFI was a problem on the first floor but then they shifted us to ground floor where it worked a bit OK. Average breakfast. Breakfast room rather too crowded for my liking. Shower a disaster scalding water and no cold water in the tap most of the time. each time we showered we had to try several times before you could get under the shower. Not good. no replacement of coffee after the first day. The room was VERY small compared to the one shown on website,. Breakfast poor , cramped and had to go outside into another building for it. Dirty room, too few electrical sockets, steep narrow stairs which was terrible to navigate with a heavy suitcase, smelly damp bathroom, in need of a revamp!. - I didn't get the room which I paid for... - dirty bedding with old stains, - dirty toilet, - dirty towel (second one was ok), - blood stains on the wall in toilet near mirror, - broken shower, - hotel worker which came to check toilet after my complaint - maybe wasn't drunk - but I smelled alkohol from distance... Never want to come back, never want to hear about this place... Maybe rest of guests were lucky and had better rooms than me... stuffy room and bath without proper ventilation, a bedlamp out of order and the desk clerk could not fix it (didn´t know what a lightbulb is). My room was next to the pump so I asked to change,the rooms look nothing like the picture they are very small and the cleaning leaves a lot to be desired, I asked for a wake up call and did not get. The room was tiny. Breakfast didn't have hot food options. Ran-down building, torn curtain, door-handle falls down, a pencil can fit into the hole of the window-frame, etc.. Demand for a room on the 1st or 2nd floor. Small, not as clean as it should have been, small, underground room, Bearly bearable. Wifi not working/plug sockets not working/holes in the curtains/noisy heating system/toilet leaking. Size of the room, temperature (too hot), noise during the night, no toilet facility in the room. Very small room smallest single room I have ever stayed in I should have taken notice of reviewes.
