Friendly and helpful staff checked us in early to accommodate for our jet lagged one year old. Before they could let us into our room, they kept our bags for us, so we could get acquainted with our surroundings. The staff also let us keep our bags at the hotel after checking out because our train left in the late evening. Rooms were very clean and fresh. all reviews » The location was fantastic. Easy walking to Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, 10 Downing Street, London Eye. There was a Starbucks across the square which was great for morning coffees and a good Italian restaurant as well. The waterloo underground and train station were close by for all other transport. The rooms were very clean, and the staff very helpful with directions and booking a taxi for our trip to the airport. We had 2 triple rooms on the 10th floor with our daughters . We were delighted with the Hotel and very impressed with the way that the old Laying In Hospital had been adapted. In the past we have stayed at County Hall but it was full on the dates we required.It turned out to be lucky for us because we far preferred the London Waterloo hotel. We were lucky enough to be put on the 3rd floor with the old wall tiles and fantastically light landing. The whole experience was fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We found the staff extremely helpful a. Everything was very nice about your new "Premier Inn", the friendliness of staff, the English breakfast, the quick check-in, the possibility to have a tea/coffee in your room and I liked very much that you picked up the origin of the location as lying-in maternity hospital and showed the old painting in the lobby and in the restaurant, that will always stay in my mind, well done. Above all, walking a few minutes from your hotel and then passing the bridge with the view of Big Ben was very touch. Everything! Cleanliness, friendly staff, neatness, proper use of space in the room (I would consider the room a small one, but each foot was properly designed for efficient utilization), shower size is good, coffee and tea facilities in the room, location (close to Waterloo Station and London Bridge is 2 minutes away with a view of it from our room), close by restaurants, convenience stores, cafes and snack shops. In general, our stay was very comfortable and would definitely recommend it to ot. My request at time of booking for a quiet room with a good view was met. The location was close to many attractions & sites as well as public transportation. It's also in a good location for Courtesy Pick-Up from numerous Tour Operators. The staff were always friendly and helpful especially Hussain who made phone calls during the day for me to confirm tours & bus pick-ups as well as arranging taxi pick-ups when required. The Tyme restaurant on site had a tremendous staff and great food. Great central location, we never needed to use public transport, you can walk to just about anywhere in central London, as long as you are relatively fit and able and have comfortable shoes! The staff couldn't have been more helpful and polite, particularly in the restaurant, bar and reception. Our room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Breakfast excellent value for money and plenty of choice. Drink prices in the bar very reasonable for central London. Waterloo station is just round the corner about 5-10 minute walk which was great. Extremely excellent hotel and after hearing about our experience with Premier Notting Hill they even upgraded us and took us to the room and made sure it was a room we were happy with! I was also double charged my entire stay which was not a pleasant surprise. It was done by error and refund was processed. Due to different exchange rates, I lost about 40 pounds. The volume on the TV in the room wouldn't go higher than 15 which made quiet dialogue difficult to hear at times. I realize the purpose is to keep the TV from disturbing other rooms but I think volume could be allowed to be slightly higher. The room seemed a bit small for what I expected when booking a triple room based on photos at time of booking but when you're gone all day and all it's basically used for is to sleep at night it served its purpose fine. Room (802) did seem slightly smaller than other Premier Inn rooms with limited wardrobe space, was told we would have a view of Big Ben but all we could see was the very tip. Needless to say none of this spoiled our stay we were hardly in the room after all!. I complained about my window curtain falling. One of the staff came and took a look and promised to send a repairer. The window curtain was never fixed throughout my stay. There was NOTHING we didn't like. Restaurant (for breakfast) was chaotic. This might have been due the large number of families traveling with kids on easter holiday. Layout and flow thru the buffet was like cattle stampede. But a relatively minor dislike. Not really anything I can think of. You could choose from number of pillows so you can adjust how you want to sleep but I need a very flat pillow, and 1 pillow was still too much for me, had to sleep with no pillow at all :) but it's just my personal taste. There was a cost for more than half an hour of wifi per day. Only found out had a cheaper rate for a week after a few days. None. We were given a disabled room, though not disabled, which had plenty of space but is on the ground floor with no outlook. Upper rooms seemed to have some view. No bar fridge so you couldn't keep basic things like water cold. We ate in the restaurant for one night and had a bad experience. Took close to two hours from when we first ordered to get the full meal. Meanwhile our two kids fell asleep. We put this down to teething problems due to the hotel only been open for a matter of months. We got a full refund for the meal which was nice. A room with a brick wall view but as we were staying only one night it did not really matter. We had 2 adults and 2 older children crammed into a room but that wasn't really that bad. We could still move around alright. Only minor things but no bar fridge at all which may bother some people. It is a very efficient hotel and savings are made with refillable soap containers including the shower (which says hair and body wash but a bit harsh on my hair I'm afraid) The positive is that it may also be reducing waste doing this. Can purchase items if you happen to forget something though. The only problem was that the sink was broken - there was no way to remove the plug from the sink so it quickly filled up with water and I had to be very careful while using the hot tap. They stopped the cocktails at the bar that's all lol. For the price charged the amenities were limited and the room rather small; however this price was perhaps low for London? It would be helpful to have on site self-serve laundry facilities. nothing. Everything was excellent!. The beds were too hard and uncomfortable. The first bed (on our first stay) we had in Rm. 1306 was worse than the 2nd (on our second stay later in the week) in Rm. 326. An earlier check-in would have been helpful on the day we arrived from Toronto. Road in front is very busy. The only thing was the bed which we found rather hard. However, we asked if we could have a second quilt to put over the matress to lay on and whilst we had our evening meal it was delivered to our room, so that's not a negative really. sometimes a little too much from staff if you are engaged by three or four in one mealtime. Some problems with WiFi access. Expensive, but so is everything in London!. No complaints. Nothing, we liked it all. Nothing comes to mind. Was a bit dissapointed to learn that as a family we had paid a good bit more than another family that were staying at the same time. Also we paid for WiFi for the four days but wasn't able to connect most of the time. I did contact reception a no. of times but it didn t chance. Nothing. Winfield for only 30 min free. Not cool. No safe box in room. The breakfast is essentially for English guests. The front desk staff is a little confused to give information. I paid for a late check out and my key was reprogrammed. When I have tried to go back to the room, key was not working. The employee still took about 5 minutes to solve the problem. The lift took ages at times and sometimesd stop didnt stop at all.
