The staff were all very friendly and attentive. There was a mistake with the extras we had ordered and this was dealt with quickly with a deduction taken off our bill. The bed was very comfortable and although we both prefer a bath the shower was excellent. We liked the cocktail menu and range of rums. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. They allowed us to check in 3 hours early. The rooms were really stylish and a nice size. Good location about 10 minutes walk to shops. Hotel was nice and quite at night so allowed for a great nights sleep. Complimentary minibar was a nice touch too.
all reviews » The staff were very welcoming, hotel is very modern and looked after to the highest standard. Was also really quiet even tho it was a saturday evening. Receptionist was very helpful in booking us a taxi in the evening.The car park next to the hotel is very helpful. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Rooms were spotlessly clean. Lounge has a lovely relaxed feel and the bar staff are great. Location is fab for getting around central Glasgow. Free wi-fi in all areas. I would definitely stay again. The hotel is in a good location for the centre of Glasgow, but not noisy at night. the bedding, the bathroom. the complementary bar was a nice touch. Helpful staff. Comfy bed. The room itself was a little smaller than we had been expecting for an Executive King Room. There was a slice of mouldy bread on the buffet table. We did try to alert staff but it was taken before we could. Can't think of any. Car park was expensive. Better selection for a healthy breakfast, possibly some nuts, seeds.Kitchen ran out of oaty/soya milk even after I requested it when booking. Pillows in room were a bit hard but this is a personal thing, difficult for a hotel to know what is preferred here. I will bring my pillow from home on my next visit. The so called complimentary mini bar lacks alcoholic drinks -that's fine but should be made explicit. High spec room felt a little soulless, designed by a corporate committee rather than having individual flair. Very little wardrobe space. Breakfast room can't seem to cope with anything more than a handful of guests. Stayed 5 nights and had an incident free breakfast only once. On the other days they ran out of various combinations of the basics: no bread; no cereals; no milk; no glasses for juice; no sugar on the table; no coffee offered. Restaurant seemed disorganised. But lots of other restaurants within a short distance, so not important - would definitely stay here again and eat elsewhere. The Wi Fi was awful did not get a service the whole weekend which was most disappointing . The bathroom had no where to hang up (wet) towels and there was a problem with the shower which meant the floor of the rest of the bathroom got quite wet. Not sure if this was due to a leak or water running down the shower screen. Also, not enough draw and hanging space. 1/ on the first night they had run out of white wine off their wine selection menu due to a wedding party. this remained the same until the final start of our stay (3 nights). 2/ on the final night we had to choose from their lunchtime menu. 3/ bed was very hard. the breakfast was good but staff (unlike the reception) were not very friendly. When i asked for a piece of toast with my smoked salmon and scrambled eggs I was told to make it myself which was odd as the lady on the next table was serveds with scrambled eggs on toast... but the scambled eggs ans salmon were excellent. Maybe i am being a bit critical but small things matter. Breakfasts. Very limited choice and then some of what choice there should have been was missing. Worst was the service - after 25 mins of waiting I called a different waitress to give my order. This spoiled my stay as a good breakfast sets you up for the day. Air cond was noisy, even when not on!. Continental breakfast was quite poor; we ordered a twin room but first we were given a double - though they changed it immediately. Quite dark rooms. Bar in lobby not very good. Asked for club soda and no one knew what this was( they brought ginger ale) before we changed it to sparkling water. Lack of space to hang clothes, no heated rail for towels in bathroom, would have liked more options on menus, price of drinks in bar. The room was a bit too warm even with the heating turned off. Breakfast, we had breakfast four times usually around 08 - 08.30, every morning but one there was a shortage of something, butter or ham. Either there was a general shortage at the hotel or the staff did not care to add to the buffet. It also took long time to have cooked breakfast. the choice of drinks at the bar was limited. the bar and sitting area was very quiet and didn't encourage you to stay. could do with a friendlier atmosphere to encourage more guests to stay in hotel after dinner. Nothing. Nothing!. Nothing. Was no remote for tv in room had to ring reception twice til 1 was delivered to the room. nothing. Not enough weight lifting equipment in the exercise room. Choice of lagers. Lovely rooms. The lounge area was open plan and not very cosy with doors to the street opening into it. Our bedroom on the side facing the multi-storey car park wasn't the view we had been looking forward to. Our meals as part of a Great Rail Journey group were very disappointing. i felt the hotel, its atmosphere, the room was cold and impersonal. Poor selection for continental breakfast buffet, although cooked part was nicer. No bath. Slow breakfast service.
