I had a pleasant 2 nights stay whilst visiting Open golf championship (Muirfield, July 2013) Sakura is a clean & comfortable B&B, VFM for short stay in Edinburgh. The owner (Maggie) provides a friendly service, & delivers a decent breakfast to you room. Newington is an old town suburb with real ale pubs offering good food. A vibrant alternative to the main tourist area, yet only 20 min walk to Waverley station & royal mile.

In addition, we do appreciate the breakfast, which is really nice. If chanced, I will be here twice and more definitely!. We booked a room for two and found ourselves warmly welcomed. That particular room was spacious and cosy, with its own private bathroom. The hostel is within easy walking to the city centre, and there are some lovely pubs nearby. An ideal stay when inEdinburgh!. Margaret was very friendly and accommodating. I was in Edinburgh to pick up a new bicycle and she kindly stored it in her living room overnight. Room was comfortable and excellent value for money. Will definitely stay again and recommend to friends. It was very good value for money. Obviously it was simple, but it was comfortable, clean and in a good location. The staff were friendly and helpful. Proprieter very welcoming, very convenient for Edinburgh city centre, bus routes virtually on the doorstep, plenty of eating establishments nearby. In general: okay. 15-minute walk from town centre; safe walk, even at night. Easy to find. It's spotlessly clean and in a great location. The owner was really friendly and helpful. The hostel is friendly, clean, near of natural atractions and public transport. the location was perfect for eating out, walking distance to main tourist area. The room was a bit small and an underground room...but that does not lower the credibility much. decor. The bathroom was very small, and needed revamping. Waited an hour to get checked in as owner wasn't available.
