Location is excellent with loads of buses into the city centre but the local bars and restaurants in Leith offer a huge choice, plus the new shopping centre is only yards away from the front door of the hotel. It wasn't obvious that a buffet breakfast was included when I booked so this was a nice surprise too. The dog was welcome too, at no extra cost. Excellent value. I first booked at the Waterfront but found out that there was one closer to the city center when I reached Edinburgh and managed to change the booking. Very good value, well served by buses to all parts of the city. Many good eating places nearby. Staff very friendly. Nothing too much trouble. Hotel very comfortable.the hotel was very clean and the staff were very pleasent and helpful. Good quiet location, parking always a bonus!. Quiet and comfortable. Very accessible. FREE PARKING. Helpfulness of the staff.good bus service. its location was really good, although it's quite a way from towinburgh, it only costs £1 on the bus into the centre of Edinburgh so it is really good value for money, and the complimentary breakfast is definitely worthwhile.We wanted a hotel in the Leith area so the location of this one was perfect. Room was clean and pretty comfortable though and the shower was good. Also a good rate for Edinburgh for the Easter weekend. Selection of tea wasn't very wide!. Wrong room type given on arrival. However, the friendly staff fixed this up immediately. Location requires that you have a rental car or ride the city bus to get to the city center (the bus was cheap and fun).The only complaint was that the beds were very hard. no tea coffee facilities - I think there should have been as there was a kettle. As above. This is our 4th stay in hotel and each time either my wife or myself have injured our hand on the doors. Stairway identification... thought it could be improved, just in case of emergency....There was quite a lot of background noise, may have been hotel ventilation system. got stuck in the lift! it broke down but staff were very quick to help. breakfast, the food was not replenished quick enough and the tables were not cleaned after use. Lack of parking spaces. I think a small gripe might be in providing a continental breakfast the hotel should make some cold cooked meats available. no. Continental breakfast-on second morning the rolls and croissants were stale. chaotic at breakfast time, lack of space and cutlery, due to the volume of people in th hotel.Slight noise from the new AC units, not bad but slightly disturbed during the night. (This comment is not a complaint). The air conditioning is not as good as the originazl rediators. It is noisy and blows cold air and is more dificult to control. Had to turn off at night because of noise etc.Breakfast a bit basic but adequate. having to walk through "the smokers" at the front entrance. The price of the bar!. The breakfast coule have been better. English breakfast with eggs, sausages is something i prefer.Bar not open till 4pm. can't fault it really, although the room we had this time wasn't as nice as last time's, and being right opposite the lift it wasn't the quietest of rooms.Disappointed that although we were told our room would have a good view when we booked, it actually looked onto a car park and the Scottish Executive Building. Not really what we would consider a good view.
