One of Edinburgh's most central hotels, this renowned establishment offers warm surroundings and modern facilities in a building that dates from the 19th century.
Situated in the heart of the West End, built in 1872, the Beresford formed part of the last phase of the New Town Development and was a private house until the early 1900's, when it became the first house hotel in the area.
With all the attractions of this World Heritage city at your doorstep, including the shops of Princes Street, the Royal Mile and Old Town, it is pleasant to find a peaceful corner like the Beresford lounge in which to unwind after a busy day of sightseeing.

Location for the rugby, vale of leith and city centre. The breakfast was very good. Good location, helpful staff, clean comfortable room and good breakfast.cozy and not too many people. And not far from the train station. The staff were friendly and helpful. Helpfuland welcoming staff. The hotel staff was very polite and helpful in every respect. The breakfast was good too.Covenient for the area I wanted to visit. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location, friendly staff. Location and layout. the pillows. the people was really friendly, and we got a lot of information about the city, and what can we do there. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Location within easy walking distance of the city centre. Central heating was on much too high. shower in our room was not very hot. Having to get taxis into the city center, walking distance is approx 10-15mins. Noisy windows in the front rooms, no parking as advertised on hotel website!. The room I had originally been allocated had just finished being painted. The smell of the paint was still evident on arrival however I was immediately given an alternative room. no restaurants very close. There was a bloodstain on my clean sheet right where it would touch my face, whoever made the bed couldn't help but see it. No discounbt when leqving qt 4am without breakfast. There was no hot water in the shower in the bathroom. We had to skip taking shower one day and had to take the shower with **almost** cold water. After reporting this to the hotel staff, they offered the adjacent room for us to use the bathroom, however, the shower in this adjacent room was broken too. I am not sure what would happen in the case of a fire...Room was small and bathroom tiny and obviously had just had a new floor laid - not very professionally. cleanliness of rooms. Room was very disappointing, small and rather dilapidated. breakfast was just one hour! from 8 - 9 oclock! to early. if you are in holidays at least you want some rest. the room looked really ugly, the toilet looks like really bad. and one day we didnt have hot water. it was to expensive. The room was filthy dirty, particularly the shower and sink. The shower was so bad my wife and I only took one shower each in 3 days. The room smelled of paint and damp (paint was obviously covering the damp). Despite no smoking signs, the smell of cigarettes was everywhere including in the room. Window would not stay open, so I wedged it with a trainer. Could've stayed in Ramada for same money.
