The hotel was excellent and exceeded all expectations. Even though our room was one of the smallest available (judging from fire escape plans), in my view this is the best 4 star hotel I stayed in so far.
The staff was friendly and helpful. Girls at the reception desk arranged for us to stay another night even with a short notice, despite the hotel was full.
I also want to express my gratitude to the guy from the restaurant Marko. He went more than a mile (literally) out of his way to assist us.
This hotel is AMAZING its in a great location it's boutique it's friendly it's clean nothing is too much trouble for the staff. In particular the Receptionist REINE ( she is nothing short of amazing with everyone ) this young girl needs to be promoted as she is the main person in this hotel she goes out of her way to help is always smiling , but is the same with every guest ( we watched this girl perform her magic every day ) treating guests like family, she has a GENUINE interest in people. A .
I really enjoyed staying at this hotel, it was quiet over the Christmas period when I went. The staff were supper friendly and very accommodating. An extra splash of kindness, (as there was not enough people staying...Christmas eve) they offered complimentary room service for our Irish breakfast, which was also delicious. It was a great experience. The room was lovely and the option to have a bath made it even more relaxing. The decor was also stylish and easy on the eye. I will book again (in .
Great location. The botanic gardens are very close and there are lots of pavement cafes and eating places. The hotel has a wonderful terrace for catching the sun whilst having an early evening drink. The staff are very helpful and printed off our boarding cards for the return flight.
Lovely big bedrooms. No noise at night even though it was weekend. Molly's yard next door is good for food. Walk along the waterfront to the centre or in the opposite direction to Cutters, a waterfront pub.
I loved everything about this hotel from the moment we arrived to the moment we left.
We went to celebrated my girlfriend's 30th birthday, I'd asked the hotel if they could do anything to help celebrate.
We arrived and saw that the bed was covered in petals with a happy birthday message placed in the middle.
The room was lovely as were the breakfasts.
I'd recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Belfast.
Thank you Dukes at Queens for making this a memorable stay!.
Was knocked out by the re-design and decoration of the hotel. Very smart, chic and sophisticated with the latest design inclusions. The room was spacious and light-filled and the super king bed and pillows ensured I had a brilliant sleep. The bar and restaurant was especially groovy and stylish and the food and service were excellent. I was particularly impressed with the friendliness and helpful advice from the reception staff. Top marks.
This hotel is value for money for sure!! We stayed for 2 nights and it was cheap for a 4star hotel with breakfast! It is close to many restaurants, seems like a student area. Around a 15 minute walk to the main city centre so if you don't like walking i wouldn't recommend but if you want luxury at a cheaper cost the. Go for it! The woman at reception were always happy and friendly and very helpful.
This hotel was a god-send. We were there during a rare but powerful heat
wave, and had been miserable in other locations. Dukes, however, has air
conditioning, and we took full advantage of it. Also, the staff could
not have been kinder, or more helpful. We would definitely stay there
again. As for Belfast, it was the highlight of our trip, which included
most of Ireland, and some of Northern Ireland.
Large clean room. 37inch tv with surround sound. iPod dock wired into the sound system. Super idea for relaxation. Very comfy bed. Room was warm and cosy. Got parked on street outside so saved money on parking. Two course dinner and wine for two £29.95 excellent. Friendly professional staff. Next time I would ask for room with bath as although the shower was fab I love a soak.
This hotel was a lovely surprise - quite beyond our expectations. The rooms were quite spacious and nicely decorated. After a two weeks of touring, which included a lot of hiking and walking, it was wonderful to be able to soak in a hot bath. The staff were friendly and courteous. We enjoyed dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. Excellent value.
Friendly and informative arrival. Impressed by clean, tidy and impressive building. Room large, clean and very comfortable, bed and linen crisp and clean, changed during our four day stay, extremely comfortable bed. No noise from street on floor two, good choice. Varied choice both for breakfast and dinner. Very convenient for both train and bus.
Size of the bedroom - it was huge! Bathroom was also big, with both bathtub and shower, and spotlessly clean. As both my friend and I carried heavy luggage, elevator was essential. The best of it all was a help extended by Jennifer, who was behind the reception desk and doing the duty of a concierge at the same time - both with flying colors!.
Wonderful friendly staff. The food was possibly the best we had in our week touring the coastal route (6 good hotels). Boy can the chef cook poached eggs!
Excellent location, 2 minutes from Queens Uni and Botanic Garden. Easy to walk into city centre. Room had also the best bed I've ever slept in.
Would definitely stay here again.
Friendly and helpful receptionists. The bed was very large and comfortable and there were clean towels every day. The large, well-equipped bathroom was excellent, although we only had one soap between us and had to transfer it between bath, shower and wash hand basin. All staff made the extra effort to ensure comfort.
Room very spacous great facilities bed very comfortable bathroom large
with bath and shower heated towel rail nice fresh towels every day nice
toiletries also supplied breakfast great freshly cooked good buffet
.dinner offers great 2 courses with wine for 30pounds great value great
value for money location good.
Hotel was fabulous and the girls at reception were lovely. Our room was spacious, spotless and extremely comfortable with fab décor. The food in the bar was quite nice with a varied menu. Location perfect, short stroll to town and nice bars in the area. Would highly recommend and would stay again .
All round excellent value for what was a beautiful and luxurious hotel. The food was delicious and again good value. The staff were friendly, helpful and aimed to please. The hotel rooms were clean and luxurious.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone as a seasoned traveller.
Many thanks again!!.
Everything, the location is excellent, close to the city but nice and quiet. The room was huge. Breakfast is brilliant, try the wheaten (brown) bread, really excellent, we had a lovely stay and will be coming back, I general Belfast was a vibrant city and we totally recommend it.
from early check in to late check out, everything about this hotel was fantastic. The staff were very welcoming and attentive, with comfort really exceptional for the money we paid. Food and bar service was outstanding. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend.
I liked the unfussy atmosphere. I immediately felt relaxed from check
in, there wasn't a hint of a pretentious/corporate background.
It felt like a place I could unwind & so it proved. The staff where
relaxed but helpful & the room was perfect. I will be back.
The room was gorgeous - really nicely decorated and the bathroom was modern and very clean. iPod dock was great. Big tv. 10 minutes walk to Belfast city centre, lovely restaurants in Queens and just an all round great experience in a very stylish and luxury hotel.
The bedroom was lovely and comfortable, and the bathroom was very modern with a bath and walk in shower. The receptionist (Jenny) who was so pleasent and helpful to us on our weekend. We stayed in room 209 it was well away from the music in the bar late at night.
The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. They have a baby listening service which allowed us to eat in their restaurant. The food at breakfast and dinner was fantastic, the location in the university area was perfect and the hotel was very well kept.
The whole trip was excellent from start to finish. The best short break I have had. The Hotel was faultless. The facilities were more than expected. The rooms were very spacious and the food excellent value for money. The Hotel was also in an ideal location.
Great service above & beyond e.g. Minding luggage all day & then into the night since we did not return until very late. Provision of extra bedding since we did not get what was booked. Help at 1.30 am because the air conditioner kept clicking on.
The receptionist was so helpful, cheery, friendly but still professional.
Air conditioning was excellent (I always look for air conditioning when booking a hotel and generally feel let down by what is provided).
Soft bed with high quality linens.
A small, intimate hotel with very friendly and helpful staff throughout from reception, restaurant, bar to housekeeping. A very friendly and happy team who obviously all get on well and make every effort to ensure you have a good time with them.
My girlfriend and I booked a luxury suite but were upgraded for free and got to stay in the university suite which is one of the best hotel rooms i have ever stayed in, the reception staff were very friendly and we were welcomed with a smile.
This is a fantastic hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were given an upgrade to the "University Suite" which was superb. The location was great - walking distance to the city and plenty of great restaurants and cafes nearby.
The reception staff are very friendly , rooms well appointed , clean , decent breakfast range , nice location close to the town center but far enough away so its quiet at night, 3am residents bar :) would defiantly stay again at Dukes.
The price was good. The breakfast was excellent. The location was excellent. The room was clean, comfortable and exactly what we would have wanted. The staff were kind and very professional. P.S Check out time at 11am was a bit early.
Excellent staff who go out of their way to make you feel at home. The hotel is located in a perfect part of town which allows for easy access for dining, shopping, and sight seeing. We will definitely stay their on our next trip!.
staff were always helpful, very friendly and polite. Hotel was very clean and our room was beautiful and quiet. Easy to get into the shops, great restaurants really close. Before we left we booked to return again in July 2013.
Location excellent. Only 15 minute walk from city centre Xmas markets which is why we were there. Cocktail bar well priced. Nice breakfast in the morning. Rooms spacious and very comfortable. Reception staff very friendly ;).
The whole experience from checking in until departing was excellent. The staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. The food was delicious, we ate in every day - there was a special dinner deal which was incredible value.
The staff were great and I loved the bedding, pillows and duvet. Room was well decorated and the bathroom was lovely and clean. Also a great bonus to have free wi-fi. As a business traveller, it is vitally important.
The room was really well designed. I thought the shower was really spacious and relaxing. The tv was a great set up with a great variety of channels. The food for room service was also very tasty. Overall impressed :-).
All staff throughout our stay where a very good mix of professional and friendly.
The food on offer was of rather substantial servings and the room itself was a very good size with nice layout and good facilities.
everything about this hotel was awesome, friendly and helpful staff, great location ten minute walk from the city, great breakfast. the room was a large modern room clean and very comfortable. will be back again.
The rooms were lovely, shower amazing, staff friendly and helpful. Location perfect for restaurants and bars . Parking on street was free and easy to find a space. Will stay here again when on a night to belfast.
The room was very nice, the bed was comfortable. The location also was good for seeing the gardens and for seeing the University. The staff was very helpful; they helped arrange a tour of Belfast for our group.
Dukes is probably the nicest hotel that I have stayed at in many a long year. I had a very large and comfortable room
with an enormous bed. The breakfasts are served to the table and are plentiful and excellent.
The room and the bathroom was gorgeous and very clean and modern. I
liked the little touches of the biscuits with the tea and coffee and the
the chocolates at the bedside. I also liked the various towel sizes.
Room was large and very well appointed. Bathroom had walk in shower and a separate bath, which we like. Tv was well placed for viewing without a stiff neck from looking up! There were three chairs in the room.
The most comfortable bed I have ever slept in with lovely fresh crisp bedlinen. Very quiet location despite being in a central location. The rooms are well furnished with flourishes of tasteful design.
Reine at reception gave us a wonderful welcome and was very friendly throughout our stay. The bedroom was lovely, very large and spotlessly clean. The location is great, a short walk into city centre.
very spacious, well-equipped rooms
friendly & flexible staff - helped promptly, e.g., booking a taxi, getting city-tour bus to collect from door
parking onroad, though free and readily available.
The staff were very welcoming and friendly, particularly the receptionist Riane. The room was amazing. Very spacious and beautifully decorated. The meal was delicious and breakfast was 1st class.
Very friendly, efficient and helpful staff. A very well appointed and comfortable bedroom with a spacious bathroom with bath and separate large shower. Very good value for midweek 2 course dinner.
nothing.
Nothing.
The decor in the bar is a bit dated.
My girlfriend had one criticism and that was that there were no plug sockets near any mirrors.
Actually nothing comes to mind.
No complaints at all.
On morning number two there was no fruit cocktail left at 9 a.m.Upon enquiring informed there was none left in kitchen, disappointed as there was still one hour until breakfast was finished and four/five couples came in after us. Morning staff so rushed that on two mornings guests eventually asked for tea/coffee after waiting for some time.
The only little thing was that there is no ramp leading to the entry doors of the hotel - though there are only few steps, that is a major problem for people in wheelchairs, and also for those of us who do not know how to travel light.
There is no hotel parking but we were able to park on the street within 50 metres with no restrictions.
Decor in the reception and dining/ bar a little outdated.
A mini bar in the room would have been nice, however this did not impede on our weekend or our experience!!.
Nothing.
Only small downside is risk of lack of parking. Situated right on the boundary of city centre controlled parking zone and in a heavily populated residnetial/university area. Could risk having to walk a distance unless you're luck enough to park nearbby....we weren't.
No assigned parking but that's only a very small criticism as there
is parking available within 300 yards.
The window in the room was very small and did not open.
Nothing, it offered great value and I would thoroughly recommend it.
That I asked for twin single & got a king combined- this is the order they received. That the air conditioner was faulty keeping me awake. That there were riots in Belfast - not their fault obviously.
not applicable- liked everything.
No compliants.
Nothing to dislike.
Down quilt on the bed , not good for alergie sufferers , would b great to have the option with this . No other problems at all .
Wasn't too impressed with Claudines. The cocktails were rank, the wallpaper was ugly red. And the entertainment on the Saturday night was awful head banging music. Apart from Claudines, the actual hotel, staff and room was great.
Nothing, was my second time to stay here and I'm sure I will be back again in the future.
There wasn't anything we didn't like. Happy to recommend this hotel to anyone planning a city break.
The breakfast was ok but my bacon was too hard to eat and the scrambled eggs tasted like they were either out of a box or from the microwave.
Nothing.
The shower was very small and a bit difficult to figure out how to use. Once I figured out how to open the shower door and turn on the water, everything was fine.
I didn't like that there was some rubbish on the ground outside of
Claudines. Nothing major. It just looks a little worn as well and could
probably do with some updating.
The pillows and duvets were huge and hot!.
Parking on the nearby roads is a little tricky.
The cooked breakfast was great but would have been nice to have a selction of croissants, rolls ect.
Nothing, thought parking may have been an issue but there were spaces available to the front of the hotel each time we landed thankfully.
